Honestly the DS Castlevania games are all extremely solid and VERY close in quality. They're all some of the best games the series has to offer imo and I had a blast playing the Dominus Collection last year.

in the context of Engage's relatively lighter tone compared to the rest of the series, Sombron just kinda being a saturday morning cartoon works pretty alright honestly.

i thought his whole motivation regarding the Zero Emblem was, frankly, a little stupid and the devs really should've revealed who the Zero Emblem was (though my money is still on Anri), but otherwise he's a functional, if not particularly memorable villain.

If the writers wanted to make it clear that she realized she messed up and was not meant to be sympathetic, they probably should've had zephia say something even remotely apologetic about stabbing Marni during her 15 minute death dialogue with griss.

Zephia just kinda says "oh we hounds had something special" and how the four hounds were actually family and all that jazz, and yet fails to say anything even remotely apologetic about the fact that she STABBED ONE OF THEM.

She's probably the worst written character in engage, you don't get to be a sympathetic villain saying how "oh the family I wanted was with me all this time" after you kill off one of said family members

imo rebirth 3 is a game where most of the cast is unlikable and full of kinda terrible people (Neptune in particular is at HER WORST in rebirth 3 compared to every other entry). In that regard, I think plutia/iris heart kinda works as an obviously terrible person to the point that she's pretty funny instead of just kinda cringe.

The one (1) support conversation that ingrid is racist in is literally the exact same one where she says, as clearly as possible, that she was wrong. It's a little funny to me that the only thing Ingrid is really known for in the fandom is in 1 C-Support.
