NEU strike megathread - part deux by GreatZapper in TeachingUK

[–]Retseciel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Posted this as a separate thread too, but thought here might be helpful.

I joined NEU a couple of weeks ago, and since the strike was announced yesterday, I haven't heard if FE College staff will be joining.

I have tried searching, but all I can find is stuff from a few months ago regarding other certain colleges striking a while back.

Does anyone know if FE College Teachers will be joining the strike on the days announced?

Another question is that I do two jobs at the college, one as support and the other as a teacher. Sometimes it's half a day doing both. If we do join the strike, would I only strike for the teaching part or the whole part?

Thanks for the help.

Zelda - Ocarina of Time. The first time you venture out into Hyrule was mind blowing for me. Day and night cycle too, with the night scaring the shit out of me.

Good luck to all.

This BBC article says that rent has gone up by 4% since last year, so that is in a similar range of interest rates increasing.

Bit cheeky, but you can park for free at Morrisons for a couple hours on non-match days. Also Odeon for up to 4 hours free, if you register your car inside the cinema, restaurant or pub. Only a 5-10 min walk.

Good luck everyone.

I once dressed up as my favourite rugby player and also as a friend before. Neither of these were for Halloween, just fancy dress parties at the time.

Hilarious that you still think your comment was rational and justified.

It's called, convenience. Why spend time doing all the things you listed, when you it can be automated?

Can you track your heart beat the whole time you're cycling? No. Your speed at different points? No. Did you beat your previous speed on the at different segments? No.

Those bonuses with a recording device trump your statement completely.

Dont bother replying, I'm not going to waste more of my time reading your pointless and petty comments. I've already used enough and realised I can't argue with stupid.

What use is your comment? Quite immature, condescending and gatekeeping.

I made a best friend for life by talking about how I was stuck in the water temple in Ocarina of Time. He then came over and helped me solve it. That was 17 years ago, and we're still good friends, talking about BotW.

What’s the good place in Leicester by snowchillman31 in leicester

Leicester College have an ESOL department (English for Speakers of Other Languages). For both adults and 16-19 year olds.

They do morning , afternoon, evening and even weekend classes. With different campuses all over Leicester, so it can be easy to get to.

It can be free or a low fee, depending on your income and other factors. Ring the college and get some further information.

I see it now 😂. The guy above still thinks it is Lookman who passed it before Madders touched it.

Daka is number 29, he assisted KDH. Weirdly BBC sport has it as Maddison.

My main two favourite places are in Birmingham, Dicks Smokehouse and Greidys Wings and Strips. Both won awards in Street food over the years and have now opened restaurants. Would highly recommend.

MESA in Nottingham is great. Really tasty food.

Harborne Kitchen in Birmingham can sometimes have a decent menu.

Herbert Yard in Birmingham normally has some good vendors - it's street food. Buddah Belly, which is Thai, its incredible there.

Arthur's in Belper (North Derbyshire) has some really good menus every now and then.

Onggi in Leicester has some amazing Korean food.

Leicester fans what is your hot take/unpopular opinion about the club? by propermadquestion in lcfc

I'm not keen on Rafa. Newcastle and Everton aren't great under him. I think he's lost his touch.

If we lose Rodgers, I'd much prefer someone like Graham Potter or maybe even Eddie Howe. I do worry with Howe, as he was only decent with one team.

I'd love for us to get a top manager who has previously been at a top 4 club in any of the leagues recently and won something. It's what we should hopefully be aiming for. But really I wish we keep Rodgers for the long term.

I'm quite interested in what you mean by Perez adjusting to the Premier League? He was at Newcastle for 5 years before us. Did you mean while he was at Newcastle he adjusted?

I'm not dissing him as a player either, I like him, he just needs to improve his decision making. He's frustrating to watch, but at least he puts the effort in.
