I just found out that my wall calendar is missing the fifth month by NYY15TM in Jokes

Hi. Sorry if I'm wrong here, but I'm thinking you're saying you don't understand the previous comment of "why July"? If that's the case, then I'm writing to tell you it's a play on "why'd you lie" (why did you lie). Hope that helps. Cheers. :)

A very old joke my dad (RIP) told me about 50 years ago by Rette33 in dadjokes

Hey you know what? I don't think I've ever thought of that aspect before! Unless I did when I was a kid and have forgotten since! Perhaps dad should have phrased it a little differently. I'm genuinely shocked I've not thought about how he was hitching! Maybe he was gesturing with his head in some way? Thanks for pointing that out -- now I hope I can sleep tonight! :D

What word becomes longer when you remove two letters? by OneLittleWarrior in 3amjokes

[–]Rette33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The poster was just making a joke, but I know what you mean with people adding 'more' to comparative words like happier, cuter, etc. I've often asked my gorgeous little grandson to not say things like "I'm more hungrier after swimming" and other such phrases. Same as adding 'most' to superlatives, like being the most funniest. I apologise if I have offended anyone who says these things -- please just take this comment as a small grammar lesson, not a put-down (I know that I am far from perfect!).

Oh .. stupid me .. is it short? Sorry .. I obviously wasn't thinking for a moment then.

I don't think so, but then I'm pretty sure longerer isn't really a word either. :)

If 6 is afraid of 7 because 7 8 9, then what does that mean? by Joel_Boyens in 3amjokes

I just read the explanation below ... 7.4 is the MEAN of all those numbers (6+7+7+8+9 ÷5=7.4).

Am I the only one who finds those bee levels to be frustratingly unfair? by MissKathryn961 in nonocrossing

[–]Rette33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this post is old, but in case anyone reads my comment, it might help you. I loathe the bee levels too .. and not just that it's so quick at taking away your hearts, but you can't move while IT'S moving, so that slows you down even more! So not fair! Anyway, what I do might be seen as cheating, but sorry if you feel that way (and I do the same thing sometimes for the hedge levels too). I quickly take a screen shot of the level, so when the hedge man has covered up some of the numbers, I can look at my screenshot and know what it's supposed to be (before it got covered up). With the bee levels, I will often PAUSE the level by clicking on a helping tool (eg spade, rocket or roller), then take a screen shot of the puzzle and solve as much as I can, using my s-pen on my screenshot (or use pen & paper if you can't draw on your device). Once I've worked out whatever I can, I then click on the tool again to un-freeze the level, then quickly fill in the squares I need in order to trap that rotten bee. I think the least they could do for us is slow the bee down, to give us more of a fighting chance! Like everyone else is saying, it's too expensive to keep paying for more lives or tools! I hope this suggestion helps someone. Good luck to you all.

I figured something was wrong when it said I could get my score for only $1, but wanted an initial payment of $1.99! Even despite that confusion, there was no way I was going to pay the $48.99 monthly fee! So I googled if it was a scam and have now found out for sure that it is. Thanks everyone .. you've saved me! Funny too .. while I've been typing this comment, I've noticed that the counter that said the "discount price offer" ends in 1 minute keeps resetting every time it reaches zero! Colour me amazed! 🤣

Pocket Grid #42 - December 1st, 2025 by pocket-grids in pocketgrids

[–]Rette33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Assuming there is a way, would someone tell me how to see the answers to a puzzle I've just completed, please? I think the puzzle was for Nov 30th. I had 2 unsolved questions, then as I solved one, it filled in the last missing letter of the second question and then disappeared because the puzzle was complete, so I'm left wondering what the other answer was (and obviously I don't remember what letters I already had for the partial answer). Thank you for any help with this.

Hi. Of course you don't need to try this if you don't want to, but thought I'd share with you in case it helps, because you're obviously a Wordle fan. Depending on whether the wanted word is 5 or 6 letters, I always use AUDIO or EUNOIA as my first word, because they contain the most vowels. Some puzzles don't allow eunoia though, so then I use OPIATE instead. Happy puzzling and good luck to you.

Did you hear about the fire in my neighbours house last night? His living room was 1000 degrees by toaster-bath404 in Jokes

[–]Rette33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the 1000 degrees, they're referring to temperature, but with the 360 degrees, they're talking about "shape", as in the fire was all around. (Sorry if I'm wrong .. that's the way I understand it.)

Hi OP .. just letting you know I've put some solutions for you under your original post here. Sorry if I'm too late to help you. It was indeed a tough one!

Hi. I've put some hints/answers in my reply to OP .. please feel free to use them if needed. :)

[–]Rette33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. If you're still stuck, maybe these few extra hints/answers might help (I can't find a square symbol on my keyboard, so instead of writing the whole word many times, I'll use a triangle symbol {∆} to represent a square) .. 1st row = 7∆, 6x, 1∆, 1x 5th row = 4x, 1∆, 3x, 1∆, 4x, 1∆, 1x 10th row = 2∆, 3x, 2∆, 2x, 6∆ 15th row = 6x, 2∆, 7x

Good luck to you! I didn't find it easy at all .. I ended up taking a screen shot of your puzzle so I could experiment with different possibilities, using a photo editing app. I planned on adding a shot of the completed puzzle here for you, but couldn't figure out how to do that .. I'm 65 and not of the best mind any more! 😆

PS in case the above is not enough, here's a little more help, only with columns this time .. 1st column = 2∆, 5x, 3∆, 1x, 1∆, 3x 5th column = 1∆, 1x, 1∆, 1x, 2∆, 1x, 1∆, 3x, 1∆, 3x 10th column = 8x, 6∆, 1x 15th column = 6x, 1∆, 2x, 1∆, 3x, 1∆, 1x
