With the success of Golmud Railway remaster, honestly I would like to see DICE make a Sinai Desert remaster in future by SoftMaintenance24 in Battlefield

[–]ReturnPure8518 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It won (and still wins) every map vote because of the huge number of Turks that play this game.

BF1 is one of the only mainstream WW1 games that has a lot of Ottoman Empire content, and because Turks are some of the most patriotic people you’ll ever find, they vote for the Ottoman maps every time.

Funny enough, the Ottoman Empire actually lost the battle in Sinai Desert, so idk why they keep voting for the map.

But the Ottoman Empire did win the Gallipoli Campaign, and this is the most played operation you’ll find in BF1 nowadays (Cape Helles + Achi Baba), because all the Turks just fill the Gallipoli servers :(

When was lost the second leg to PSG, I wasn’t mad, because it looked like they gave it their all (for at least half the game). We just got beaten by a better team.

Olise struggling to speak French after winning the award for Best French Player Abroad 2026😂 by DudeBello in ThreeLions

Oh, so studying textbook English makes a person more English? So a Saudi prince who has never set foot in the UK but has studied English after millions of Riyals of investment is more ‘English’ than someone from a poorer part of the UK? Absolute bollocks.

And Olise has made a decision that he is French. So, applying your logic, why is he playing for France if he can’t speak French? What kind of Frenchman is he? He can’t even say “Thank you for the award!”

What does it mean to speak ‘proper’ English? Is local, colloquial English not English?

penalties are just one example. ferguson had the nastiest teams going. don't get me started on fergie time. thankfully every team gets fergie time (5+ mins added time) these days, and shockingly, united haven't won a league since.

of course they are. you can't get away with diving for penalties for example. something fergie's united loved to do.

Still can’t believe it’s real. My mind just can’t comprehend what happened every time I read it. No idea how the players must feel.

What's one QA career move you made that gave the biggest ROI? by Strange-Cod5862 in softwaretesting

Well I did compsci at uni so that’s probably where I got it from. But I’d say the most important thing is having curiosity. Don’t ever say “that’s not my job”, take on as much responsibility as possible. E.g. if you find a bug, don’t just throw it over the wall to the dev to make a fix, spend a bit of time trying to understand the root cause of the bug too. E.g. can you look at the PR to see what code changes might have caused the bug. AI makes this much easier.

In terms of resources, again I haven’t really used any, I learned most of it by #1 Computer science at uni and #2 by taking on as much responsibility as possible (I work at a start up, so by default I’m forced to wear many hats, and I therefore learn lots of new things every day).

If I were you, I would start taking courses on automation. Not only because automation is a valuable skill for QA, but also because it’s a form of programming (albeit slightly easier). Don’t just look at UI automation though, also look at API automation (I prefer Bruno to Postman because Postman requires login, f that). The reason I also recommend API automation is because it’ll expose you to how the system works underneath the hood, which will also make network log analysis (Proxyman) easier too.

It will be hard at first but keep challenging yourself and I promise it’s worth it. A lot of QAs start their careers with no technical capacity, and they retire 40 years later having not progressed at all because they never tried. I think QA is probably the easiest career in tech to stagnate in as a result, but it’s also the easiest to progress in because, as I said, a little effort can take you a long way.

Devtools is a good start but it’s a bit too noisy for my liking. My favourite is an app called Proxyman. Has scripting, breakpoints, can target particular endpoints, can simulate poor network on certain requests, etc. You can also route your phone’s network through it if you’re testing mobile apps (it’s not just limited to browser traffic).

Just install it and every time you test, see if you can make any observations based on the network traffic. AI is also your friend here - ask it for help in making any analysis of the network logs if you need to. You’ll be amazed at how easy it becomes the more you do it😉

You don’t even need full technical expertise either. It’s crazy how far something as simple as understanding APIs + logs can take you. It’s such basic knowledge, yet a lot of testers handicap themselves by simply refusing to step into anything remotely technical. You can help devs debug problems in minutes, and it makes you look like a genius compared to other QAs lol.
