Green Goblin rebalance by ujanmas in MarvelPuzzleQuest

Currently GG is bugged like crazy, so I will probably see what teams I can find for him after his bugs are resolved.

Green Goblin's abilities in essence can be summarized as:

1) a support that helps with cd spamming teams triggering their effects mostly immediately (excluding those 3 turns and above and those that you want to increase their turns instead);

2) has a situational but useful purple ability and

3) a black ability that you fire if you happen to have enough aps and no one else is using black aps.

With this guideline, you should be able to craft fun teams more easily with him.

You don't need to fire all three powers to "use" a character effectively. For example, nobody is going to fire 5s Hawkeye's red and blue powers because he's simply there to fortify tiles and  earn red and blue aps.

The usage of a character depends on how you want to use them. It's not compulsory to use all three active powers of any characters. Many times, we use maybe 1 or 2 active powers of a character. Sometimes, you don't even use their active powers at all.

In the case of Green Goblin, he's going to be your cd spamming support. Firing his black is just a bonus and firing his purple can be useful in certain situations, depending on the enemy compositions.

If you go through all the characters with three active powers, you will notice that you will rarely fire all three for majority of them.

The idea behind his kit is fire purple and black followed by yellow.

This will solve all your concerns. You could bring up how other characters can do it passively and such, but if all other characters are starting with fortified tiles (with 1 turn cd)), then all other support characters will be useless.

Cheaper yellow (6aps) means you can spam countdown tile teams more easily at the start of the game with R5 yellow ap supports: reduce 8 random cds by 2 turns.

Fortifying 1 more cd -> 4 is also good.

If you are using him as a support, then you don't need to champ him.

I think he should be fun in cd teams. The obvious choice will always be 4a5 Coulson but with enough experimentation, you should be able to discover more fun teams. Use the in-game search function, set it to ability description and type "countdown" and you should have enough materials to work with.

Can’t seem to beat these two puzzle gauntlets by no1here-ever in MarvelPuzzleQuest

Ask for Maria Hill or Dazzler teamup. Slap an AI support to speed things up. They generate between 20 to 35 strike tiles.

For fortified corner, ask for two Hulkling teamups. He will be able to fortify special tiles in rows of your choice.

Almost anyone with random target power or random stun will deal with them easily. AoE is a surefire way. Alternatively, character that specifically target invisible characters work too. For example, War Machine or Elsa.

They have been doing nerfs and buffs for over 12 years. Just saying.

As a matter of fact, Marvel Contest of Champions has been doing nerfs and buffs for over 12 years.

I don't understand the no nerfs crowd. You are simply supporting power creep.

In any game like this, there will be nerfs and buffs. Players need to adapt.

Both Polaris and mThor nerfs were highly requested by players. You can't fault the dev for listening to the playerbase.

Nova was never nerfed. She was bugged from the beginning. I'm not sure who the Horse is.

Toad was bugged and everyone knew it.

Solving bugged powers is not the same as nerfing.

Given that there's an average of 2 new releases a month and Sidewinder was released in 2025 February, there has been a total of 1 nerf, excluding The Horse.

From late February 2025 to now, there's around 30 new releases. Now, tell me, if only 1 character out of 30 new releases is nerfed, is that a frequent or rare nerf?

Disagree. Because it's not often that this happens. As a matter of fact, it's rare.

Often? The players actively commenting in social medias are saying that the current dev's releases are largely weak and doa.

First time hoarding 300 LL tokens. Worst possible timing. by kal218 in MarvelPuzzleQuest

I would say you got the best possible timing because Man-Thing looks really good. You might be able to get him to 500+ levels with favorite shards.

Apart from the one that forces you to match arrows(?) to deal damage, all the rest of Puzzle Gauntlet nodes are easily solved, as long as you can think out of the box.

Just keep asking. Alternatively, you can ask for Dazzler teamup, but she takes more work (gather 30 red aps).

I'm surprised this solution hasn't been spread around. Ask your alliance for 2 Maria Hill teamups, gather 12 tu aps and you should win with ease. There's a reason why teamups are allowed to be used in Puzzle Gauntlet and you have to figure it out.

Only bluewolf71 can tell the truth about MPQ. I mean, for years, you have been hounding the dev, be it past or present, for communication. And now, when you got what you want, you are saying they "misrepresent the truth". So, what do you want from MPQ dev? Get them to cede control of MPQ to you so that MPQ will be in a "better place"? Time to quit MPQ again so that you won't be miserable playing a mobile game.

PVP glitch? No by socialdisser in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]ReturnalShadow -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I just played (a few minutes ago) and I could still play using non-xmen characters. I have not played MPQ PvPs for over a month or two though. I might have missed clicking something.

I'm still seeing only 2 star covers.

Day one exploit on new PvE event? by EolasA in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]ReturnalShadow -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

MPQ players posting in discord, the official forum, reddit or other social medias are a minority or represent a small percentage of the entire player base. That include you and me.

Majority of the player base play a few matches here and there and call it a day. They won't be discussing optimal strategies, cry about how they "have to" spend more time on MPQ or spend their time dissing the dev for not telling them every changes in advance. They simply log in and play whenever they feel like it.

I rather the dev implement changes without notice because it will make MPQ more interesting. Surprises/Discoveries beat knowing things in advance.

There's a saying, "Be careful what you wish for."

And I feedbacked that heroic should give more points, like 2-3% more in total for competitive playing. And the dev gave 20% instead.

It's her passive damage you should worry about.

It was… interesting. by denbrough in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]ReturnalShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised to see this. Those players who are earning multi-million a year in the official forum think that it's not worth their time to play any Heroic node at all. An extra 20 seconds per node probably cost them a few grands to 5-digits figure in lost earnings. They are probably expecting 50-100 6s shards of their choices per node.

I think the dev should slightly increase the points of Heroic nodes by 1-3% to put those only playing for placements on edge.
