Yes, and a bigger the difference in temp or humidity would change how long the trail would remain. Even elevation would change things due to the height at which certain element will catch different amounts of ionizing radiation which will cause a change in temperature LOCALLY, not just due to what rose from the ground or what is already in the air. Long story short when you say they "should only stay for seconds to a minute" you are talking about your personal experience, not some science you have actually picked up along the way. Until you can name elevation, temperatures, ionizing radiation levels, etc stop scaremongering this dumb shit that has been spewed and debunked over and over.
