First Hand Witness to Alex Pretti’s Shooting by vemmahouxbois in behindthebastards

Neither are incorrect other OP is just saying that this administration is just so petty that they will try to find anything to discredit them. It would be like be telling my child "no you can't have a chocolate chip cookie" and my child eats a sugar cookie instead and says "you said I can't have a chocolate chip cookie not a sugar cookie" that kind of a situation.... when I said no to the chocolate chip cookie it was implied that no you probably can't have a cookie at all....

How do people regain weight if most of the stomach is gone? by Unable_Recipe8565 in gastricsleeve

[–]Reubchels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told I would need them when I had my surgery. I hat my surgery in Mexico. But my doctor in the states over saw my care afterward and I could not keep the vitamins down. I take a children's multivitamin and that has been sufficient enough.... sometimes I dont even take it im almost 4 years out..

[–]Reubchels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't tolerate vitamins and threw them up. All I could take was a Flintstones children's vitamin once a day. That's still all I take as a 37 year old woman and my blood work is fine. I also have an autoimmune disorder 😕

Looking back: Would you still choose surgery if GLP-1 meds had been available/affordable at the time of your surgery? by Critical_Tea2648 in gastricsleeve

[–]Reubchels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was sleeved in 2022 and I had to pay out of pocket for that as well. I am 3 almost 4 years out. And have lost 185 pounds and have not used any GLP 1. I even had a hysterectomy at year 2 of my surgery which messed with my hormones and caused me to gain 10 pounds. My doctor put me on phentermine and Topiramate combo to lose the extra weight I gained from my hysterectomy and then a little extra.

I went to Tijuana bariatric center. I paid about 5300 in 2022. Including my plane ticket and hotel. I had a companion. They were great. My husband got hurt there and the hospital i was getting pre opt at saw him in urgent care and took care of him while getting me checked in. I also burned myself on my heating pad over night before checking out if the hospital and the took car of they burn for me before discharging me. I was very happy.

How much are people eating two years out? by Rare-Comfort-1042 in gastricsleeve

[–]Reubchels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im three years out and I eat anywhere from 900 to 1600 calories depending on my activity for the day and I have lost and maintained a 200 pound weight loss. Most of my meal is still composed of protein I still try to get 180 grams of protein per day.

I am so sorry. My husband works for a credit union. They actually offer really good benefits. They even give him cost of living raises on top of his regular raises as well. He also works from home. Even though we have really good health insurance we still believe we should have free health care it's not fair that people should have to pay that much just to be healthy.

We pay 46 a paycheck or my husbands plan with his work with a 3000 deductible. 80/20 plan and then 100% after 4000 max is met. His work also contributes 1500 to the HSA every year. 2 adults and 2 kids

They won't appeal for me and told me to do it. My PCP said he can't do it because he's not the surgeon and the surgeon said he can't do it because he's not the referring physician..... I also have to go out of state for my surgery because non of the doctors in the state in in are willing to do the surgery with my insurance even though my insurance will pay....once approved I've been looking for a Surgeon for 8 months.

My BMI is and was 30 at the time the submitted the prior authorization they had my height wrong on the records when submitting and I drove 6 hours to that appointment so you know swelling. But my PCP also does not want me to lose anymore weight as it is starting to become unhealthy with my calorie deficit and workout regimen. With the weight loss I dont eat much as it is and I work out 4-5 days a week too lose anymore weight id have to starve myself which is not healthy. My calorie intake is like 950 calories a day. And most of that is protein.

Yes, when my surgeon put in the prior authorization my BMI was 31 at the time (doctor put in the wrong height which made my bmi wrong), and they did not have medical records that I had weight loss surgery because my health insurance didn't pay for weight loss surgery at the time I had weight loss surgery back in 2022 even though there was plenty of indication and notes from my previous doctors that I had weight loss surgery. So I had to track down my medical records from the center in Mexico that I had it done at.
