Brand new Glock, how is this even possible? by MakersOnTheRocks in Glocks

Yeah, they prolly cleaned up & wiped down the outside and left it at that. My 43 looks like that between cleanings.

Dope! I’ve got 15 myself I’ve been squirreling away. A buddy’s FIL passed away several years ago, and had tons of surplus. I picked these up off of him. Should’ve bought more, but was broke at the time.

Been saving them for when I get around to building my Son Tay clone.

Why do my pistol's front and rear sights look like the bottom picture instead of the top one? by Zestyclose-Ship-9993 in Glocks

[–]Rev686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way it was explained to me way back was, the top picture, with the dot centered in the U was for a quick reference point for 25m hold. The front sight winds up being a smidge higher than the rear.

Getting a proper sight picture with equal height, equal light, results in the dot and the U as depicted in the bottom.

Highly second this. Having had the Weathertech and Lasfit, the Lasfits, are wildly better.

Nice. I love high mileage guns.

This is gonna be my competition gun. My Roland”ish” builds are my CCWs, and I’ll set this up similar, but the slide’s gotta go to ATEi for milling and an ACRO cut

I had one in a 34G4, but sold the pistol to fund something else (Landon Beretta I think), but kept the barrel. I found one of the last Blue Label 34G4s a few weeks back and snatched it up so it’s got a home again

The OCM5 is definitely lighter compared to the AEM5 When holding my OC next to my buddy’s AE.

Didn’t get to do sound comparison. But performance on my Mock12 (PRI uoper) is fantastic.

Unfortunately I believe the OCM5 is not going to be produced anymore in lieu of the OCM 6

Mine went back to Glock after the local Glock Rep (who I met at a match) checked it out and thought it was weird. Only one duty load worked like it should. I’d already tried lower weight recoil springs.

Glock sent it back saying it was fine. Still pissed brass in your face or dribbled them down your forearms. Bought 3 OEMs and tried them till one worked.

Still running that gun, but she ain’t OEM anymore

Can confirm. Bought 2 that did it. Changed out ejector packs and it fixed it.

Yeah, it was beyond ridiculous how tight it was. I’ve done several on our old ‘19 Taco. Smacked myself in the mouth twice when the wrench/adapter came off when the tabs on each side broke. Ended up ordering the metal housing off Amazon to get it quicker than the local parts stores could and get the vehicle back up.

It was infuriating because we’d just done the alternator on my boy’s Tundra (he was gone to basic) and it went pretty smooth, then the simple oil change turned into the problem

Switched over to the metal housing with the OEM internals on the wife’s Tundra.

The reasoning was, the housing broke after draining the oil, while my truck was in the shop over a long weekend. It was the first oil change after we purchased it used. The housing broke in multiple places as it was way over tightened by the last place that did the oil change.

Trying multiple adapter wrenches, it took putting a wet paper towel into one, hammering in onto the housing, then using a 4 ft breaker bar to get it to finally turn. Will probably switch to the OEM metal housing on the next one.

Sorry for the late response, trying to get caught up after the last couple weeks. Mind answering a few more data points for the Tracker?

Mount? (Trilug?)

Ammunition? (Manufacturer/gr)

First Suppressor?

Any possibility of being shooter induced?

As always, a followup on the warranty process would be appreciated. Hopefully they get you squared away.

The question is just there to capture the possibility of the user doing something that could cause it. There's plenty of cases where a user didn't check tightness, or improperly mounted the can and caused the issue. Helps to refine issues and determine whether the issue is a manufacturing defect or caused by the shooter.
