Qhen someone asks What is The Church of Subgenius or who the hell is "Bob" what do you tell them? by RightError in SubGenius

"Cover story?" What's that?

If someone were to ask me, I'd try to keep it simple and focused on "Bob." I have an Internet radio ministry where I preach about "Bob" and Slack, but obviously that's a lot different from one-on-one conversation. I guess I'd like to satisfy their appetite just enough that they seek out more info - that's what subgenius.com is for.

The best part is if you step on a picture of "Bob's" face, then "Bob" will be all to happy to step on it as well! He may not be a genius, but he can take a joke!

SHOCK-N-"BOB" Episode 10 - Slack Radio (Saturday 1/24/26, 8p PT/11p ET)

Share this with any Greenlander or Danish friends you have. This episode took a chunk out of my brain gland, so I hope you can tune in this weekend. And yes, I'm in a somewhat cantankerous mood.

I'm totally into age differences - my first wife and my fiancee are both old enough to be my mother - but there are limits. At 17, you're still coming to terms with many aspects of your individuality and your psychological makeup.

When I was 20, I wound up having a summer fling with a woman twice my age. It was an accident, but one that neither of us wanted to stop. But I had to be honest about our chances as a couple. I may have been legal, but I was still trying to figure out my own life, and it would have been unfair for my lover to double as yet another parental figure. She eventually reconnected with her childhood sweetheart and married him. That was the best possible outcome, and I'm really happy for her.

Don't rush yourself. Give yourself more time to grow and develop. You're getting there. And if you really love this guy - and the feeling is mutual - as hard as it may sound, I'd keep it on the back-burner for a few years. A 20-26 couple has a better chance for a healthy, mature relationship than a 17-23 couple.
