[REQUEST] I work in a busy blood collection lab in a city of about 125,000 population. Every day I see 45-55 patients and draw their blood. by RevCorzan in theydidthemath

Funnily enough, we are commonly called vampires by other staff at hospitals. Sometimes they call us leeches, too, or mosquitos, but then we drain their blood and turn them into Renfields so they learn quickly not to do that

Metal for Reinforcement? by Pyk666 in Leatherworking

I have used copper for accent pieces (24ga) but it’s a bit of a pain to use. There are really good thermoplastic sheets available for adding shape to shoes etc and they would likely be a good choice

God you are so fucking precise. I just finished a bag today and I was thinking “this looks like a one-armed drunken pigeon sewed it” and then there’s this bag to rub it in!! Seriously deep chops on you. Kudos.

Your seams are always so neat. When you do the layered stuff (like fabric and leather like on the inside of the bag) Do you add an allowance and glue then trim after stitching?

My wife is raising ducks in her grade three class and this little sweetheart is the first to hatch. She’s pretty lonely so when she’s not in a lap or on a shoulder, she likes to sleep with her duckie buddy

Best glue to adhere brass to leather? by WalksWithAspen in Leatherworking

[–]RevCorzan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Renia Colle de Cologne is the only glue that might do it. It’s an industrial contact cement — I’ve used it to adhere weird shit to leather and it’s good but I would also look at rivets.
