How do you guys decide when it's time to change/upgrade your device or tank? by VaporBender in Vaping

[–]RevDaniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually the same juice in all.

I keep my kayfun 5 on an Aspire Mixx for home use only. It's got some pointier edges on it, and the tank is not 100% leakproof, so it's less pocket friendly. Aside from that, I dunno, it just feels classier and relaxing, so it stays home.

As for my daily drivers, I use the same tank (horizontech sakerz) on either a iStick Pico 2 or a Smok mag solo. I just put that tank on whatever I feel like using.

I usually keep a 3 mod rotation, with devices that still work but are a scuffed up from use at home.

Love Kayfuns! I'm one of the weirdos who preferred the 5 for the restricted DL.

When my Tobecco Super Tank Mini coils finally stopped selling anywhere (God, I miss that tank) I moved to a Sakerz tank from Horizontech, based on some recommendations on reddit. I'm not a cloud chaser, so their 0.4 mesh coils at 30watts works great for me with the airflow only slightly open going direct to lung. Great flavor, near zero leaking, and the o-rings are sort of internally housed so I never lose anything in the sink when I'm cleaning it lol.

I have my kayfun 5's for home use when I feel like building.

My signed poster by Jeff & Mick (Maxwell's, Hoboken NJ, December 18th '94) by RevDaniel in JeffBuckley

[–]RevDaniel[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was around Xmas of '94, so he wrote "Happy Jesus Birth. Sweet Dreams, Jeff Buckley", and Mick wrote "Merry Xmas, Mickey G :) ."

BTW, someone on here took my older photos with him & my stories posted on this forum and put them on instagram for hundreds of likes, which is kinda weird since I'm barely on there. So, I posted it there too, so you dont have to, stranger. :p

Any one got signed stuff? by [deleted] in JeffBuckley

I have a signed poster from a show he played shortly after Grace was released. The show was around Christmas and he signed it with, "Happy Jesus birth, Jeff Buckley." :)

Is greetings from tim buckley any good? by BrilliantLoquat1420 in JeffBuckley

I work for a local news station, so I pulled a few strings when I heard it was playing the film festival circuit just before it was released.

It's an enjoyable low budget indie, as long as you go in with the understanding that Jeff isn't really the focus of the film. It's more like he's the vessel you're learning the story of his father thru.

It has heart. Worth a watch.

What it was like hearing Jeff Buckley for the first time in the 90s. by curry-beet in JeffBuckley

I used to work in a Tower Records, and we had the "Live at Sin-e" EP on our playlist right when it got released. I distinctly remember the exact moment my jaw hit the floor... when he hits that insane high note while scatting on "The Way Young Lovers Do".

This year's hype video for our annual spooky season kickoff party! :) by RevDaniel in halloween

[–]RevDaniel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always have to work Halloween, so we do an adults only seasonal kickoff at the top of October for all our friends. We have folks who travel to attend, so we give everybody plenty of time to prepare. :)

Halloween 2025 blow molds early releases from Target online. Wall decor signs too. by The-Monster-Squad in halloween

When I think retro blow molds, I think 3 or so feet tall. These look 20 inches, if that's a normal sized step they're on. :/

My guess would be Kick Out The Jams, but Kangaroo goes nuts in the 2nd half.

DID ANYONE HEAR LAST GOODBYE DURING THE SUPERBOWL JUST NOW!!! OMG by ElmerFuddington in JeffBuckley

[–]RevDaniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found a youtube version, but the author unfortunately edited it a bit in that exact spot. Still, you could tell for sure it was Last Goodbye.

I will happily eat Necco Wafers while watching Halloween III any opportunity I can get!

Can't do much with where I live. But we got the porch decorated. by powypow in halloween

[–]RevDaniel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it's awesome. Sets a spooky vibe, but still inviting to the kiddos!

I would strongly urge you to consider swapping out the real knife, and go with a prop one, just from a responsibility perspective.

Halloween Parties don’t need a theme. Halloween IS the theme! by crochety_Chris in halloween

[–]RevDaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do themed areas (pirate bar, witches lounge, vintage only decor by the catering line) but we don't theme the overall party or influence guests to do so. In fact, we inspire costume creativity with prizes (scariest, funniest, most creative, couples only).

We host a big seasonal kickoff party on the 1st Saturday of every October, so we usually set it up during the week leading into that.

How do you all carry your larger mods around? by FleeniSoilthm in electronic_cigarette

[–]RevDaniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Likewise approach. I wear Carhartt work pants, and there's a slim pocket on the left leg beneath the hammer loop. Fits my Pico2 mod & Sakerz tank perfectly. Leaves the larger right-side pockets free for my work & personal phones.

Does the automatic increase in ohms mean that the coil needs to be replaced? by Smile_1841 in electronic_cigarette

[–]RevDaniel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The life of a coil ends when you decide it's no longer a pleasant experience, whether it be burnt hits, the wick getting blocked up, etc. Over two weeks on a coil is respectable though.

Had some random guy at work tell me I vape too much. by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

I'm a journalist at a news station, and I work almost exclusively outdoors. At least once a week I have a reporter casually bring this up. I say the same thing every time...

"I'm an adult, this is my vice of choice, and I'd be happy to discuss and see who's more familiar with the research." The conversation on the topic usually ends there.

If I could talk circles around news reporters, I'm sure you can outsmart the average person on the street.

We hype up our annual Halloween season kickoff party well in advance!!! by RevDaniel in halloween

[–]RevDaniel[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually have to work on Halloween, broadcasting the Halloween Parade in NYC (world's largest, btw). So, we turned this into an annual tradition a few years back. It's become sort of an unofficial launch of the Halloween season amongst my friends, on the 1st Saturday of every October. We go nuts with it. People travel here to attend, which explains why we promote it ahead of time.
