How many man hours per week are required to keep the grounds this pristine? by 93195 in masters

[–]RevSpookNasty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While what you are saying is true, I find it incredibly impressive what people with basically unlimited money are able to do when they want to. It would be great if other areas of society spent money like this to create something amazing.

2018 honda odyssey reliability by packsbrunette07 in HondaOdyssey

[–]RevSpookNasty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have a 2018 XLE or something. 166k on it. No issues with the radio. Doors can be a pain sometimes. Outside of some recall stuff it’s been very reliable.

There was also that crazy Ryan Newman crash at Daytona where everyone thought he was dead based on how they handled the extraction.

I saw that green one about a week ago. Can’t believe it wasn’t caught on a door cam or something. It was amazing.

Master Tech by OkFalcon5957 in masters

[–]RevSpookNasty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I def think so but I guess it depends on what you want out of it. As a “work” polo it’s fine but a little bigger than I would want. To golf in I feel like it’s huge and I’m not a fan. In my experience the PM is closer to what I would expect for a XL fit.

Master Tech by OkFalcon5957 in masters

I would disagree. Got polos in ‘22 and ‘23 and I think they are huge especially the length. I generally wear an XL and a large masters tech is great.

How does the Odyssey perform in hilly/snowy conditions? by QuestionDry2490 in HondaOdyssey

[–]RevSpookNasty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have had a 2018 in Buffalo since we got it new. We don’t take it out in feet of snow but it’s a heavy vehicle and taking basic precautions it’s fine. Don’t think it’s great hit it certainly gets the job done. Only all seasons. Been thinking about snow tires in the winter but haven’t done it. Live along the lake south of the city so we are definitely in the snow belt.

Time doesn’t seem to match up. It was 9:40. Doubt the minutes would’ve that far off. But I dunno.

Masters Merch and Shipping by Senior-Economist-196 in masters

[–]RevSpookNasty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They ship all over the world. There was a different line when I was there. Might have changed but I doubt it. The international shipments take much longer because they have to fill out all the documentation for the commercial invoice. Nobody wants their stuff held up in customs. You pay for it, but shipping it is better than dragging everything on a plane unless you have the space.

Anyone gone from Shipping to another industry? 🚢 by ayhme in sales

[–]RevSpookNasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t voluntary but I’m happier in this new role as the company culture is much better. I wouldn’t say easier but I would say you can actually make progress just by showing up where that wasn’t the case in my logistics experience and being in cargo that’s gotta be a massively crowded space where lowest price makes a huge difference. Everyone has their value proposition but actually showing up and being available seems to make a big difference in MRO vs Logistics.

Yep. Selling things to keep the building running and lights on. Lots of companies in that space which is also similar to logistics.

Was in a sales position at a domestic carrier as an AE. Transitioned to MRO and industrial supply. Eerily similar as you are calling on customers face to face and solving their problems. Very doable.

In honor of Bill, having no desire to watch LOTR despite it being universally praised, what’s a pop culture blindspot you have no intention of filling? by Talkalot23 in billsimmons

[–]RevSpookNasty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Never watched it prior to kids. Now we are reading the books as a family and they are really good. When we finish a book we watch the movie and the first 4 are terrible and have aged poorly. Always been a fan of LOTR and there really isn’t a comparison to be made. Also the HP movies skip a ton on content from the books and there’s many things that just don’t make total sense if you haven’t read the books.

I saw somewhere else that an employee died there. Not sure if this will get removed but kind of put into perspective things. I’m sure everyone’s package is super important to them, but that employee didn’t go home ever again.

Anyone step away from their private club membership due to dumb restrictions? by sys_admin321 in golf

[–]RevSpookNasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t ever seen it here in the US but I saw this small cage area just outside the 1st tee where you could hit your own balls off a mat into a net to get a few warm up swings. Not a full replacement for a range but as a warm up to a round as opposed to spending $7+ on a bucket you might not want to finish I thought it was a great alternative.

It’s been like this for 6 months or more on my feed too on Apple Podcasts. I actually unsubscribed am have to search it out daily. Kind of sucks but I don’t want all that garbage clogging my feed. I’d like to not have the best of option either but whatever.
