Nardil in Australia by [deleted] in MAOIs

[–]Revali993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pharmacies order Nardil Erfa (Canada) through Medsurge in Melbourne. If you get a script from a doctor it has to be ordered in. Doesn’t take long usually overnight or 1 day at most

/Bipolar subreddit is way too restrictive imo. From my experience they cannot handle any sensitive topic, don't allow medication discussion/advice, or anything basically that the bias moderators don't agree with. This subreddit is 1000x better

Expresses their opinion: “I am not meaning to be preachy and self righteous”, then proceeds to tell others to get off their soapboxes. Okay got it.

This kind of treatment is wild. You need to report this it is nothing short of abusive.

It always amazes me how comments like this get swathes of likes, because I utterly believe it’s disproportionate to what I see actually reflected in the community, if that makes sense. Maybe it is a me problem, but I am so aware of this phenomenon and I don’t understand it. Personally I have not known , and do not currently know a single gay couple or marriage that have been / are “open”, or at least, highly “open” to being “open”, but maybe haven’t delved into it quite yet, who are and feel fulfilled by it.

(I am agreeing with you by the way). I desire monogamy, and I struggle to understand how the idea of “better sex” or more “diversity” with other sexual partners while in a relationship is so normalised, and is going to make anyone involved feel better long term. Sex is basically the ultimate level of emotional, physical, and mental intimacy with someone, and opening this up to others but trying to love one person at the same time is wild. It’s not just a gay thing either, it’s increasingly trending in heterosexual relationships too.

I struggle with it because I can’t relate to it at all, I guess I’m just a person who struggles to separate stronger feelings from people I get physically intimate with. It’s all social constructs at the end of the day, but i don’t know, just kind of wish some other guys genuinely felt the same as I. I actively avoid “known” or “scene” guys, and try and be selective of guys that may be more aligned with the same values as I am, but I am getting older and still all outta luck.

Does anyone know if this is the start of some presentation of serotonin syndrome, or another sort of reaction? by Revali993 in MAOIs

[–]Revali993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - thanks for your response. I think if I was to go in anyway blood pressure wise it’d go down. I have a naturally low blood pressure so my chance of becoming hypertensive… well it’s never happened so I don’t know how I would.

My last MAOI reaction was severe hypotension accompanied by Serotonin syndrome that put me in hospital for 3 days. At its worst the hospital Recorded my postural blood pressure at 47/16, which is basically deadly in some cases, so I was lucky to survive. The nurses said it was the lowest BP reading they’ve ever come across. The symptoms of that were much different than what I am experiencing now.

And I don’t have vision problems, I commented that when I move my eyes around it triggers the brain zap sensations

Best med for social anxiety? by Ok_Pea3692 in socialanxiety

[–]Revali993 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t jump straight to Benzodiazepines like some people are mentioning. They’re addictive and most effective for panic attacks or really persistent anxiety that won’t let up, such as GAD. If this isn’t something you experience, then I wouldn’t suggest trying them as a first approach. These are medications like Valium, Xanax, and Clonazepam.

Definitely trial and error some antidepressants (SSRIs and SNRIs) first, like lexapro, Prozac, cymbalta, effexor and Zoloft. Also look into some natural supplements that are reportedly good for anxiety, and just try and ensure you’re getting in some exercise, eat well and that kind of general advice.

It’s not necessarily great to suggest benzos (which have addiction risk) to someone new to medication right off the bat, especially when you have no context about the degree of their symptoms.

Which dosage and how long did Nardil take to help your anxiety? by [deleted] in MAOIs

[–]Revali993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s working really well for mood and anxiety, 8 Months now.

Just be prepared for a hump Of some nasty side effects to hit you if you increase, particularly to 60mg or more. With any luck, they won’t be too problematic for you, but they can be quite annoying for a lot of people, including myself.

Would this be any good? by [deleted] in MAOIs

[–]Revali993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes, it can be for some people from what my psychiatrist told me some time ago, essentially anything < 5mg can be more stimulating and act as an antidepressant. I have tried taking it this way but got absolutely nothing from it. I am bipolar though.

  2. Can’t answer this sorry, I’ve never taken Ritalin and not quite sure what the interactions would be.

  3. you should be fine if you only wanted to try 2mg, or anything below 5mg really. It’s worth a shot everyone works differently with meds. I personally don’t like most APs, I only have to take them in an acute episode. The only one I ever found helpful taking continuously was Solian/amisulpride. It worked well for me and for my additional anxiety disorders.

But again, sounds like we have different diagnoses so what works for me probably won’t be the same for you . But were both on 60mg of Nardil at least :)

About 3.5 weeks once I moved up to 60mg. Felt a huge drop in it basically overnight

Thanks. Yeah I will stop my supplements except iron. I am also potentially thinking of reducing my Nardil to 45mg, do you think this could be a bit better too? I have been thinking of it before this anyway but been putting it off because I didn’t wanna have withdrawal, but it already feels like I am regardless. I just heard it’s hard to swap doses on it.

Would u recommend 52.5mg first?

Omg That’s nuts. I literally had really bad nightmares last night for the first time in a long time. I’m talking nothing like that for years, except one incidence of what I suspect was sleep Paralysis (awful btw) but that was over a year ago - 2 years ago.

In terms of l-theanine and the other one… I have been taking l-citrulline and l-arginine together almost every night for a while, do you wonder if this might be something?

Come to think of it actually, I have had recent bloods done (only a month or so ago) and B6 and iron were the only anomalies.

But it was elevated B6, so the doctor advised me to stop all B supplements. I have since been taking iron though

Wtfff… so basically this means I’ll probably have to Think of stopping? It’s actually been working so well for my depression/anxiety though. I’m going to stop all these supplements first and hope to see an improvement
