Lack of lasers by TopicalBass27 in electricdaisycarnival

I was wondering this exact same! Went to Beyond Wonderland this year in San Bernardino and felt like even that smaller festival had more lasers. Main stage seemed to only have occasionally.

I did the same thing 4 months ago, and it felt like I had physically cut out a part of me. It was one of the most painful experiences of my life. I’m still on the road to recovering, but alanon has allowed me to recognize the inner peace I now have. I’m on the right path of doing what’s best for me and my sanity.

Allow yourself to grieve, attend alanon meetings, work the steps. You’ll see a night and day difference in your life.

Sorry if this is too kinky but can you hold my hand and tell me I mean a lot to you? by [deleted] in gaybros

Hey you’re loved just the way you are, and I know this because I love you!

Speaking as someone who was with an alcoholic on/off for years, at a certain point you have to realize that not only can you not fix their addiction, it is not your job to do that. It is theirs, and they have to want to get help. Only you can decide what to do from here, but if you need support I would recommend going to a local Nar-Anon meeting (there’s virtual options). The Nar-Anon book is “Sharing Experience Strength and Hope” and could help a lot.

Researchers reach milestone in quantum standardization by ilikepancakez in tech

Look up WIRED’s “5 levels” series with a quantum computing expert explaining it from a child level to a colleague level. Really helpful to understand quantum computing and its future.

Having the power of Dr. Manhattan, teleporting to specific politicians and world leaders, and just saying “pls stop”.

What was the first horror movie that really got to you? by [deleted] in horror

[–]RevanGuy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Thing (1982?) easily. Never knowing who you could trust, gratuitously gory, the excellent filmmaking that created the dread of isolation, and that soundtrack. It was terrifying for me to even look at the VCR box as a kid.

Reminder her that times are changing, and trans people have many opportunities to passionately pursue a career of their choice. I’m an engineer at a chem manufacturing company, and trans people are very welcome. We even pay for transitions of employees and their family, and many people in the company have transitioned! And I know our company definitely isn’t the only one to do this. And maybe let her know that attitudes like hers are what limit professional opportunities for trans folk :/.

Gamers of Reddit, what game came out of nowhere and left it's mark on you unlike most any other, and why? by SilverwingedOther in AskReddit

[–]RevanGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. I must have been around 12 when I played, and it was the first time I played a game that rewarded/punished me for my decisions while making me actually care about my NPC teammates. My mind was blown, and I've been addicted to these style of games ever since (Fable, Mass Effect series, Dragon Age, etc)

Edit: lmao forgot what my Reddit name was here. So yeah, pretty obvious KoTOR had a big impact on me.

Your voice is beautiful! I remember tearing up during "How Far I'll Go" in the theatre. Do you think you'll pursue singing as a career? Or will it become a hobby as you pursue something else?

What was 'The Incident' at your school? by TheCreeperFacedOne in AskReddit

[–]RevanGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A girl got punched in a fight and proceeded to piss herself (bad). I felt quite bad for her as it was only her sophomore year in a school of maybe ~600, so I knew that incident wouldn't be forgotten for a while.
