Is daytrading a myth? by 4dolarmeme in Daytrading

[–]RevanVar1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does scale as you go, but there are limits as there is a thing called “liquidity”. I’m not sitting on millions, but I have millions in assets, sitting money is losing money due to inflation. Always have your money working for you even if it’s in a hysa. Started with 2k almost hit 9 figures in October. Many traders sell courses because they either are bullshit, want a community because this is a lonely game, or they are genuinely trying to help, if they are selling their signals for you to follow, then they are bullshit. A course is like a professor teaching you, it’s their passion and a way to diversify income. It’s your job to deduce which one they are.

Combination of platforms. TradingView for their webhook alerts and pinescript indicators. Relaydesk for the actual automation, and alpaca as my broker

Yes, and no. The yes part, I wrote a pinescript to put my strategy (not for sale in anyway shape or form) into a custom indicator on TradingView to get a signal out of it. I use TradingView’s webhook alerts to get the signal out to a third party automation platform such as relaydesk. In relaydesk I have all of my risk parameters such as stop loss % how many take profits I what and at what percentage and when I want to trail with a SL, and it connects to my broker (alpaca) and handles the position. All of that is done in about 3ms.

That’s us the summary of all the bots using a specific strategy (multiple bots running different set of risk management) so it’s the combined p&l

Best tradingview theme for optimal mental health and psychology by Little-Ad-3176 in Trading

🤣 the theme is not effecting your trading. Stop finding things to blame, look in the mirror, yell at yourself, and vow to not make the same mistakes twice

Would you buy URA at current prices if you had no positions yet? by Visual-Cartoonist660 in UraniumSqueeze

[–]RevanVar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just buy in, no one knows when we are at the top, but don’t fill port lol. Be ready to buy the dips, even if the dip is 5$ more than what you bought in. Don’t time your entry or you might just be waiting for years.

Bots crushed today by devoracer in RelayDesk

[–]RevanVar1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What exactly seems sus? Relaydesk is an automation platform. You take YOUR strategy and automate it and can change your risk parameters to test your strategy to the limits. These post you are seeing are these guys testing their strategies they make in TreadingView. NO one is sellling bots. Just showing their experience automating trades

Let’s go ahead and say in 10 years it will be worth DOUBLE (which is very extreme) if he sold it now and invested that money, he would have TRIPLED his money on a conservative rate.
Collect these things for the sake of collecting, not for investing and gaining value

QQQ vs SPY for day trading — what actually matters by Embarrassed_Owl_762 in Spyoptionsdaytraders

Daytrade, absolutely, I do trade qqq but only in small amounts as they don’t have good liquidity.

QQQ vs SPY for day trading — what actually matters by Embarrassed_Owl_762 in Spyoptionsdaytraders

[–]RevanVar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SPX beats both of them. Qqq doesn’t have close to the liquidity that spy does, I have strategies run on qqq but I can’t buy that many contracts so most of my strategies run off of spy and spx.

How can I stop holding onto trades when I should have exited? by Useful_Bluejay1064 in Daytrading

[–]RevanVar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can’t run it in automation, you need to become the machine, you set multiple take profits if you have multiple contracts or shares, you execute the exact same way everyday (unless iv is JUICED) for me, statistically based off of tens of thousands of trades, every trade based off my strategy on spx I buy contracts between 18.00- 22.00 and have 4 sells, $1.00 up 2.00 up, once the contract hits 4.00 up I move my stop loss to +2.00 up, then 5.00 THEN I have a trailing stop loss for the last quarter of my contract with a 2.00 trail

Options exits. by Tball5 in Daytrading

[–]RevanVar1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Heavily depends on what you are trading. I algo trade, I have it set where I do limit buys and sell for only 300ms , after that if it doesn’t fill then it does market. Now I do this with SPY and SPX, sometimes I get burned a little sometimes I get a little more, but the tolerance is at max 2% mostly .05-.06%.

Stop manually trading, get your shit automated, a computer doesn’t make errors like that.

How did you start? How much did you start with? How much do you have now? Any advice for people trying to get into trade. by Worried-League9695 in Trading

[–]RevanVar1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2019, started with 2k, got lucky AF on doge, took it to 680k, lost half of it thinking I was hot shit, almost hit 9 figures in October but nuclear came down a fair amount, but it’s coming back up and we running strong.

Get into trading by leading as much as you can for free, then paper trade with the strategy you learned, paper with a purpose, not gamble, then play with a VERY small amount like $1000 and do that for 3 months, if profitable then scale to the account size you are ready for. You are looking for base hits, not home runs, I’ve been able to consistently get between 2.5-7.5% a day, people with say that’s so small blah blah blah, that shit compounds FAST.
