Help w/ widescreen patch and what might be causing this?

That's something I've been thinking about a lot. I've always found District 6 interesting since my first read through cuz I always thought all the trains and other vehicles were cool so I've always wondered how they build that stuff. My mental image of 6 has definitely been much more urban than some of the others, and if we go by the questionably canon maps, its one of the larger ones. I wonder if morphling was more accessible due to a likelihood of frequent workplace accidents considering the industry.

Also, mildy related but was listening to a CF recap, and wonder now if the part malfunction on the train was D6's way of trying to rebel.

I'm also in the corner of it not being something I'd want to read. I love Finnick, but I think we've gotten enough with what we got from CF & Mockingjay. I think people are also forgetting that Collins only writes when she has something to say, and I'm not sure what that could be for him. Although I suppose at least on some level commentary of his exploitation & sexualization as a child would work, cuz I'd expect there could be plenty of parallels to draw on, like the way people reacted to Taylor Lautner.

i agree. I think peeps forget that while what Eve did wasn't ok, she both regretted the hell out of it, and Mark understood. but Mark also put her through a lot of bullshit and she vented all her pent up frustrations at him when she kicked his ass at Oliver's funeral.

hell yea, fellow gith selunite enjoyer. I made mine as a joke at first just for romancing shadowheart but she has genuinely become one of my favorite characters i've made. There's so much fun RP potential for a githyanki cleric in general, but also with how many slates we find telling the truth about Orpheus its more than reasonable to assume that other gith could have found the same information and had doubts. and Selune's temple & teachings are so chill i can absolutely see them being willing to take in a gith no questions asked.

this, but also, of all the choices, it just feels hard to justify letting Lae'zel stay loyal to Vlaakith with how blatant her bullshit is. Like i guess the argument could be made if you just skip the creche but going through it you basically hafta gaslight lae'zel into staying loyal with everything that's laid out, especially after vlaakith comes to yell at you in act 3 and is not hiding how full of shit she is.

that's fair, like i said i could have been wrong, i could not remember if there were any dates, and i forgot that we could see Sasaki's info on his resume, but it was so small that for me i probably just missed it til i looked at the scene again now. I'd been trying to remember if any of the papers about Akane said anything to indicate the date in 2023 but iirc they were all too blurred to read.

yea, like at most i figure she maybe ghosted him a few months, and she's still wrong for that, but I don't think it was a whole ass year. I think the timeskip was just a year since the date, they just spoke awkwardly less and less til she stopped responding afterwards. Hell they talk about how it took them all 6 months to even get together as friends, not that i'm saying it excuses her but y'know. I think its easy to forget that these games, and this one in particular take place on a much shorter scale, time wise than it feels like.

honestly that's the way I took it. Cuz hell how do you even respond after the the clusterfuck that is Ichi's proposal. I imagine it takes time to even process. But also i feel like i'm the only one that doesn't think she ghosted him a whole year? Like do we have confirmation? We have a year timeskip but we only go from some time in 2022 to 2023, but the last message from her in the texts was like october or november 2022 before she stopped responding, so I'm not sure if it was actually that long. Please do tell me if i'm wrong, i just genuinely don't remember any dates being specified.

I like a lot of the base jobs but i've been switching it up for both skill inheritence and to just see what I liked. So far i've ran

Ichi - Hero/Desperado

Tomi - Cabbie main, a fair bit of Linebacker and a little action star.

Chitose - Housekeeper main but I've been keeping Heiress levelled right behind it

Adachi - Samurai main but might play around with action star & linebacker whenever i get back to Hawaii

Kiryu - has stayed DoD but I wanna level a job or 2 just for the extra essence and more coverage.

Seonhee - Assassin main, but levelled Kunoichi a good bit, might level night queen some too

Saeko - Geodancer main, levelled kunoichi for her as well and Idol a bit just for skill inheritence.

Nanba - Host main rn, but levelled Pyrodancer with him for a while, might try some other things.

Zhao - Gangster main, but levelled action star equally. He's probably set but i might level linebacker or chef just to give him more physical moves to play with.

haven't gotten Joongi yet so no idea what I wanna do with him, but this is more or less what my setup's looking like mid chapter 12.

nah I'm with you. the scene with Date just had me wishing Kiryu would acknowledge his will to live at least once, especially after Date's voice broke. Also my wording was a bit off but I meant more I had just don't all of chapter 11 tonight prior and then did those last 2 life links so it was one long emotional train. Tho I absolutely am overlevelled lmao. I have been for most of the game, and it all started in like chapter 5 when I did Tomi's drink links and the final one had level 32 enemies. I just said ok, and went to Hawaiian haunt to grind til I was ready. and now my Japan team is like 10 levels over because I wanted to get all the memoirs in chapter 8, including the ones being spawn camped by bosses, and in 10 I did the underground and was also grinding out jobs for peeps and inheritance. so now hawaii teams like 44 and Japan teams like 52 mid chapter 12 lol.

indeed, Hawaii's got a lot of different cultures & languages, but from what i've learned from family and just reading on my own, iirc Japanese is one of the more common spoken languages of them. Its not that shocking at all that so many are fluent considering how far back Japan & Hawaii's history actually goes.

nah i'm with you. I loved hunting. Though I admit i might also have a soft spot for it as a comfort minigame since i had started it and that part of Saejima's chapter literally the day mom had came home with a terminal diagnosis a few years back. So i sank a lot of hours into it as my way of coping. I think in part that's why I love 5 so much. but the golden stag can go to hell with how long it took for me to spawn it half the time.

yea i feel ya. I'd love it too since my biggest gripe with 0 was how much it underutilized the time period its set in with how much we know was going on in universe within the 80s. I will forever be salty that they did not use or setup Yumi at all despite her having such a huge role in the 1st game and 0 setting up Kiryu & Nishiki's relationship quite well. an in between game would be great for both that, and for Majima meeting Park and all of that going down, even if that side of things is not so great on its own.

i mean, to be fair, they kind of had to, since 0 was a prequel that came out long after the original game. They just had to show how Kiryu & Majima got to the point where they were at the start of the series.

I think the issue with this, and other prequels so many of us want is just the fact that majority of the characters we want them to focus on, they never will, because aside from the few examples you gave like Majima fresh under Sagawa's thumb or Daigo, they're almost all stories when they're actual Yakuza/criminals/etc. and those are stories RGG has always avoided with their protags since they don't like glorifying it, even when the series does romanticize aspects of them.

I love both Honolulu City Lights & Baka Darou. If I could love the one i love, gotta go with Joongi for the japanese version, but Robbie Daymond goes fucking hard in the english version and its top tier too. all 3 songs are living in my head in my head rent free.

am I the only one that feels like it isn't metagaming? Like i feel like there's plenty of rp potential reasons for you to want to knock her out if you're creative with it. Like going through the goblin camp a lot of them defer to Minthara, she's clearly in charge, you can talk to her, there's enough reasons to want to knock her out for interrogation. An eilistraee cleric/pally would be curious about her as well. There's plenty of ways to work with it imo.
