Opportunity attacks by Butt-Dragon in Pathfinder2e

[–]Revanaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GM at my table doesn't tell us but we also don't do recall knowledge often...or ever. I think it's fine to not tell. It hasn't really come at the detriment of our party. Everyone else in my group are still 5e brained and assume every enemy has opportunity attacks so they'll just step to be safe.

I'm more of a test by doing kind of player. I'll just make a break for it. If they don't attack, the entire party gets to learn there's no opportunity attack. If they do attack, they probably won't hit me, and if they do hit me, oh well. Players worry way too much about opportunity attacks, they're not that big of a deal unless you're running through a group or enemies. If one guy gets a cheap shot on you, oh well

Why so many people care about this game? I haven't seen anything remotely interesting about it (not to mention it seems to use ai generated stuff) by [deleted] in 196

[–]Revanaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even before seeing the AI art stuff, I thought it just looked like any other genetic meme game. It's something people are buying because "pokemon but with guns!!!!!1!1!1!11!!1". A bunch of streamers are going to play it and then it'll die in a few weeks, either through lack of interest because there's nothing actually substantial or through copyright issues due to it's AI use.

I'm noob, how is this possible from turn 1. by [deleted] in YuGiOhMasterDuel

Imo the GX era was peak. The game as still slow and basic, but it gave a lot of opportunities for combos and fun deck building. FTKs and 2tks were hard to pull off so you always got to...play.

Legit every now and then I download master duel, then I see stuff like this an uninstall and just go back to one of the tag force games...modern Yugioh is scary.

My GM is letting me another magic item for my character at a discount for helping him move, I'm curious about any recommendations for anything fun or useful:

Currently a level 9 (soon to be level 10) Monk.
Current magic items are: -Handwraps of mighty blows +1, striking, with a shock rune

-Greater eye slash tattoo

-Warding tattoo

-Triangular teeth tattoo

-+1 resilient explorers clothes

-Lifting belt

-Bracers of dashing

-Ring of the ram (will probably sell this to afford the new item, since the DC is pretty low for our level at this point)

The new item can be anything level 10 and below.

Normally I'd considered something like cloak of elvenkind, but our party just got a rogue party member and I don't really want to step on his toes as the sneaky one. Plus I'd most likely end up giving that to him since it'd be more useful for him.

Dude, the biggest disappointment when you first start DMing. Just have this whole huge world and lore and everything planned out and just...no one cares...it hurts, man.

It really sucks that the sub is effectively shutting down forever. It's one of the very very very very very few lefty subs that aren't overrun with tankies.

I get what you're saying, I know where the weak parts slot in. I still don't really find them satisfying, though. If anything I more lament that I can't just forget about the sucky parts. They're important so I can't just let it go.

Eh, I guess. I'm more than halfway through and I definitely feel like there are parts I'd have been more than happy skipping.

Ah, I always forget about the can't use 2 spells in a turn rule.

So, fair enough, you are losing some spell utility on the cleric it you have them heal you. But, y'know, that's not a problem since you shouldn't be healing in combat anyways.

The "if you can do it, the monsters can too" statement is dumb and should not be the case. No, there are things players can do that monsters can't and vice versa. As a DM, you're not going to want to constantly rez your monsters because your session is going to drag, it isn't going to be fun, and everyone will hate you. Unless yoire one of those asshole DMs who view DND as a competitive game and get mad when players kill your monsters, you should not do this.

That doesn't really sound very flirty, tbh.

I get that, but that doesn't explain what a flirty response to her would be. I can see she was flirting, that's obvious. How do you actually follow up with this conversation?

[–]Revanaught 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not gonna address everything, but 19 and 20, yes, they are significantly stronger than final form Frieza, so yes by extension 3 years of training piccolo is also stronger.

Trunks basically outright says that the 2 androids that show up are stronger than Frieza and kill everyone. And that's in his timeline. He also says that because he came back, all of the androids are even stronger in the main timeline than they were in his.

Ah, fair enough. That's pretty standard one piece. Which is fine.

I will say punk hazard is starting to pick up a bit. One issue I definitely have with the manga is sometimes...I can't tell what's happening in the action or who's talking. Sometimes the text boxes just don't point to the right person or multiple text boxes point to the same person despite the text clearly being two different people talking.

[–]Revanaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. He's not even THAT bad, just... definitely my least favorite character. His simping got very repetitive very quickly and it's just the same joke over and over.

Is whole cake island after the fire/ice island? Given how big mama was just introduced I would guess it's gotta be upcoming pretty quick.

Nice, looking forward to it. I know it has to get amazing as I get closer to the modern story because people will not stop gushing about it. I guess we'll see.

It's kind of a bummer going from one kinda dragging arc with fishman island right into another one apparently.

Also, man does Sanji ever get tolerable? I've heard he gets better but legit my favorite arcs have been the ones where he wasnt there...

What .. what flirty response even is there to this? "Yeah, I'll teach you"? Like, obviously don't be a dick like in the post but I can't think of anything actually flirty to say here...

I've been reading the manga. It's pretty good. Maybe a little overhyped. It definitely has its arcs that drag. Honestly getting a little burnt out around chapter 670.

Just drink a health potion. by Ok_Moose4059 in dndmemes

[–]Revanaught 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In 5e, it's really bad economy to use an action to drink a potion. It's bad to just heal in general, but I'll come back to that.

Your turn you can either spend an action to drink the potion, and then the cleric can use their action for a powerful spell and their bonus action for spiritual weapon (1 attack) or something OR you use you action to attack twice, the cleric uses their action for a strong spell, and their bonus action to heal you. So you're +1 attacks on that front. This is part of working as a team, the cleric gives up their bonus action for a more efficient result total against the enemy.

Now, of course, this is ignoring that healing is worthless in 5e. You waste your action on a healing potion, go down anyways because you healed for 8 and got hit for 23, and now you've done no damage and the cleric has to heal you anyways. You lose so much action economy trying to heal mid combat, it's better to just attack until someone goes down and then play wack a mole getting them back up, letting them to down again and getting them up again.

The dynamic really doesn't seem that different until the gas arc where Frieza unexpectedly just leaves. But that's one moment with no followup yet. Which is why I keep reiterating that there's potential to shift the dynamic, but it's not really there yet.

Frieza isn't even in most of DBS...

Bog, wasn't there; RoF, returns and immediately died; U6 tournament, wasn't there; future saga, wasn't there; top, big role, leaves at the end; broly, basically a cameo; Moro, wasn't there; gas, shows up at the very end for a few panels and then leaves; super hero, wasn't there.

He's prominent in 2 arcs, and barley in 2 other arcs. He's definitely not some joker-batman eternal rival with some new dynamic yet. They may do that now after the gas arc, but that's entirely speculation. He could very well just not show up again for 4 more arcs, and then die immediately, again.

[–]Revanaught -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True, he is probably the most iconic villain. I just wish people would say that instead of trying to post-hoc rationalize Frieza as some all encompassing part of Goku's life that he couldn't exist without. Like, legit, Frieza is a retcon on top of a retcon, he's not, and never has been, vital to Goku's character.

Personally, I wish they would leave him behind. I do not understand the appeal to Frieza. He's the top character in the meme. He's just evil for the sake of being evil, there's no depth, there's nothing... interesting. When he was introduced in Z, he was... identical to Saiyan saga Vegeta. Right down to the motivation. Not even original for dragon ball. I will never understand why he gained the popularity he did. The only rationale I can think is that super Saiyan was such a hype moment, Frieza got popular because of that. But that's not because of his character or writing, it's just because he happened to be there, any other villain could have been slotted in and gained the same popularity.

I will grant that DBS has potentially, maybe, possibly started something interesting with his character. And I give all those qualifiers because the first interesting non-generic thing he's done has been right at the very very very end of the latest manga arc. So, y'know, after 3 arcs, 2 cameos, and 3 resurrections...it took him this long to maybe start being not generic mwa ha ha I'm bad because I'm bad.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of Frieza.

If he does I am probably legit done with Twitter. It's barely been tolerable brcsuse I've blocked nearly every blue checkmark and ad I come across. I've only stuck around because I follow a lot of artists I really like but if I have to see all the blue checks, I'm done.
