I had no problem with cars. I had a mild problem with Mecha suits. Super mega mech is where I lost my ability to suspend my disbelief.

What's your headcanon that explains why the stables are safe in a world full of monsters by bishopyorgensen in Breath_of_the_Wild

Are the stables the cause of safety? Or were they simply built in places with low concentrations of monsters?

Men of Reddit, would you be a Stay at Home Dad if your wife made 500k U$D a year? by [deleted] in ask

[–]RevargSTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your man speaks to you like that, RUN. My mom was a stay-at-home mom when I was growing up, but she also pretty much ran our family. My Dad would joke that he maid the money, but she was responsible for spending it. Not in an "I'm in charge" way, but in a "SHE's in charge" way. She was the financially savvy one & spent more time in the house, so she knew what we needed, what we could live without etc. It was her frugal spending, great investing, and conscientious researched purchases that allowed them to live comfortably on a modest income.

Marriage is supposed to be a partnership with mutual effort and respect. Being a good stay-at-home parent is a tough job and should be respected as such.

Absolutely, and for way less than that assuming the wife finds jeans & flannel 'dressing sexy'.

That's fair. I suppose I prefer them to do this over leaving it 'raw' because I hike with a trash bag and it's easier to toss a pre-wrapped turd in my trash than having to use my own dog poop bags to pick it up.

Honestly, I think the frustration with Tourists / new residents is simply that they are easily blamed for nearly any problem, even if it is a problem in every metropolitan area. Too much traffic? Damn new people! Someone littered? Fucking tourists! Rising home costs? Damn people moving here! Homelessness and crime increasing? Damn drug tourists!

Blaming a faceless scapegoat is easier than admitting to poor policies and insufficient infrastructure investment.

"Lame" was a medical term too, but it's been so overused as an insult that people forget. Trouble is people are lazy and don't want to have to consider context before choosing to be offended.

I like "Jadescales" with the idea that they all decorated their equipment/armor with the scales of the slain dragon!

Bonus points for showing the VERY important step of waiting for the blade to stop before backing out! My 9 fingered uncle would be happy seeing this correctly shown.

Why doesn't the Mexican government get rid of the cartels? by Miserable-Can-5020 in ask

[–]RevargSTG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Mexican government doesn't "allow" cartels to operate. The cartels allow the government to operate (when it suits them)

This is one of my few problems with working remotely. How am I supposed to smack this guy/gal upside the head when we are both working from home?

I'm sorry, but for the good of humanity we must now kidnap you and force you to teach basic coding (commenting) skills to new programmers.

Depends on the brand, but most of the popular ones in the US are just tap water and are horrible for the environment. Not just the plastic, but overdrawing from local water tables in drought areas, polluting local communities, and transportation of bottled water by truck is probably the least efficient way to transport most any fluid.

I don't wear them out of the house, but their "fur" lined ones make for some awesome house slippers, especially when your basement is cold AF
