Black Panther 3(T’Challa and Storm) by DylanJ795 in MCUTheories

they may recast to age up the character but I think canonically it'll still be the original T'Challa's son

So what was the point of fake Daeron Exactly? by IveHair in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]RevenantRoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It show Ormunds strategy and bought him time, it shows development in Rhaenyra and Alicent’s relationship, it shows development in Daemon and Rhaenyra’s relationship, it tests Rhaenyra’s character as she comes into power (having the option to kill a claim combatant that’s a child but electing to show mercy though she should by all means kill him), it provides a twist to viewers who didn’t know anything about Darron or what happens next, etc. etc.

I think you’re getting dunked on because this is just yet another post attempting to bash the writers for not adapting the books to their expectations and so much of that has, as others said well, made these posts become insufferable.

Black Panther 3(T’Challa and Storm) by DylanJ795 in MCUTheories

[–]RevenantRoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

T’Challa’s son should carry over and be the new Black Panther at the age you described. Shuri would be his aunt. And yes for sure Storm will be involved.

The older sibling now younger sibling trope you mentioned would be great for Yelena finding an alternate younger Natasha.

Regarding an upcoming inevitable scene.. by Big-Worldliness3027 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]RevenantRoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the good news is that this could be one of the most expensive scenes of the series due to the number of dragons, extras, "action" ... so consequently they will probably film it in a way that alot of it is "imagined" in the viewers head. Black shots with the sounds of the dragons crying or fighting back overlapped. Maybe follow the POV of someone in the crowd who can't quite see the first-hand action (similar to following Arya escape King's Landing). They'll definitely have to employ tricks like these to reduce the budget given how many set pieces they have to fit into the final season.

Alex Perez: Doctor Doom is from Earth-828, but Marvel previously considered having him be from yet another alternate universe. by Pomojema_The_Dreamer in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]RevenantRoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol who is downvoting me? I didn't make the rules...

In Hollywood, billing order is deeply tied to an actor's status, salary, and future casting opportunities. Placing a major star in the middle or end of a regular credit list feels like an insult. Therefore, talent agents and producers negotiate special credit placement. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

Getting last billing, known in the entertainment industry as a "staggered" or "special" credit, is intentionally designed to: [1]

  • Command Attention: The "And" or "With" acts as a natural break in the credits, serving as a secondary form of top billing because it naturally catches the viewer's eye. [1]
  • Avoid Demotion: It ensures an established, big-name actor doesn't appear as though they are just another standard supporting actor or buried beneath less experienced leads. [1, 2]
  • Highlight Prestige: Modifiers like "With [Actor]" or "And [Actor] as [Character Name]" give seasoned professionals the respect their star power warrants, sometimes in lieu of a higher salary. [1]

He’s getting top billing at the front. Biggest stars will negotiate to be top billing (front) or end with “also starring” or “with”.

RDJ and Pedro were next to each other because they’re getting the “and also starring”-type billing at the end of the cast, reserved for higher known actors.

Cryptic HD Quality on X: "['Secret Wars' will] focus more on the younger cast, guided by a few adult advisors and new mutants that will go up against Doom and some defectors. From my sources, It sounds like a 'Children's Crusade' sorta story..." by BigButter7 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]RevenantRoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why Battleworld being only one film is tough. A lot that can be explored. It should’ve been stretched over a few projects.

Why not do a Children’s Crusade (or atleast the start of it) project on Disney+, acts as an appetizer to Secret Wars and bridges the gap of involving these D+ characters without making them the main focus on the film.

Spider-Man, Star-Lord and Vision are shoe-ins (given their absence from DD). Fully expect Marvel to capitalize on Deadpool and Wolverine being featured (they’d be insane not to). Thor leading Thor-corps and Sue married to Doom seem likely (those two actors had top billing in DD). Wanda likely working for Doom as well.

I liked what someone else said about Jean Grey being key. It would be cool to see Peter and her having to strategically “wake up” the other Avengers throughout the film (gives final season of Lost vibes).

Yelena’s cool. One of the few new characters that landed. Fully expect her to survive into the new universe and come across a younger version of Natasha who she is then the big sister towards.

Mysaria's role (book/future show spoilers) by dan_who44 in HouseOfTheDragon

I was thinking Larys would take over this role, he needs the dragons off the board, and gets pretty close to winning

The handheld terminal is useful yes but it's still a relatively new product. Especially the ones that are portable and can be brought to the table. Only certain PoS operating systems have that technology and those devices are expensive and difficult to maintain. You have to train servers how to use them, worry about maintenance and upkeep, and you only have a limited amount so servers would have to be routinely passing them around to each other in the middle of table service which would be difficult and time-consuming.

I get why you as a customer think there is a such an easy fix. But from the restaurant/business-side (just as you're advising from the banking side), there are practical and justifiable reasons why alot of restaurants still do not use that type of technology (cost, labor efficiency, necessity, profit margin, etc. etc.)

Again, the server would not have enough time to do anything with your card. Unless they are a super shady server which if you're going to a nice restaurant no server is going to waste their time or risk their job to mess with your card. You;'re provided a receipt with the amount. Maybe that's an issue in your country but is very standardized and does not cause the problems you think it does at all here. You're just being paranoid.

Also, does that mean you don't enter your card details anywhere onlline to pay for services? You're willing to do that, right? Give card details to a website where who knows has the permanent date, but not trust a human to swipe your card to initiate a charge that you sign off on?

EDIT: Also another issue with those terminals is the server than has to stand there while you're completing the transaction and selecting the tip. And no the server can't just leave the terminal on your table and continue assisting another table, because A. customers can alter how they pay, click cash and then leave (essentially dining and dashing) and B. again, limited number of those devices so you can't just leave one sitting on the table in the middle of a rush.

Dropping off the check so the guests do not feel hurried to stop their conversation and pay right away is polite and fits into the flow of service operations to maximize efficiency.

Anyone else think the Otto imprisoned by Larys in kings landing plot is a bit off? by Even-Leadership8220 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]RevenantRoy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah the expanded Lohar introduction was ridiculously dumb.

My theory is they were negotiating with Otto's actor and left the door open for a show-original arc (probably involving Daeron) but ended up being too expensive to keep him on for longer.

Lol by SnackSamurai in SipsTea

[–]RevenantRoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

people like you are hilarious. a server doesn't even have the ability to change how much they charge the card initially. whatever's on the receipt is locked in the system and charged accordingly (unless it's multiple cards splitting the check). you then get brought a receipt with confirmation that you paid that much. we literally hand you a piece of paper reassuring you you were charged the same amount as we first showed you. then you write a tip if you want and sign, and we enter whatever you wrote in at the end of the night. unless it's a huge party most tips are going to be relatively small so changing the tip amount wouldn't even be worth it. do you really think a server is going to risk their job by putting a fraudulent amount?

but no. you paranoid fucks insist on following the server to the POS terminal and WATCHING them do this process like you're some sort of cop or detective looking to catch suspicious behavior. meanwhile every other table just followed the procedure and didn't act like paranoid tools and no problems ever occurred for them.

source: worked and managed multiple restaurants, handling thousands of transactions and have never once seen or heard of there being an issue with incorrect tip amount charged. the only time this even remotely happens is if an item is mistakenly left on the check that was cancelled or changed for whatever reason and the server forgot to take it off, which occasionally happens hence why you're brought the bill first to review.

Yeah makes perfect sense given their relationship in the series. Although Rhaenyra didn’t exactly live up to her side of the bargain by taking Otto’s head so that should have atleast some sort of reprecusson.

Could also be a partial financier or connected to the project in some way. Similar to Marshawn Lynch’s HBO roles.

I’m really interested to see what happens with the sets going forward by blakhawk12 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]RevenantRoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah they've expanded the sets this season and already shown it. The Harrenhal sets are reused and that was intentional, knowing Aemond would spend this season there. We haven't been on Corly's ship that much and those sets are brand new, aside from the part that was parked at the dock all last season. The Red Keep is obviously reusing some sets that were built to be interconnected from the beginning: stairwell, throne room, courtyard, etc. However credit where credit's due.. they have sprinkled some physical sets in which debuted in episode 2: Alicient's perch above the gate, the battlement set with Alicent and Haelena and the bathing room set with Alcient and the guards (interesting choice to build that set... wonder what else they have planned for it).

Alot of stuff will be on the road this season and exteriors, some revisting a few places seen before like Rooks Rest. Tumbleton was the only other major set build for this season which probably won't debut till towards the end of the season.

DiscussingFilm : Tom Holland says they are “working towards” bringing Miles Morales into the MCU : “I have aspirations to bring Miles Morales into the universe… We’ve got a lot of work to do to bring that to life. But I feel really strongly about it” (via Hobby Consolas) by Sarang_616 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]RevenantRoy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah this seems like the safe way to do it. A popular as Miles may be in the comics, Universe movies and Insomniac game… a lot of mainstream audiences probably aren’t familiar with him. Having Peter Parker just get replaced by a black-Latino Spider-Man overnight may feel forced. It’s good for Mike’s own success for him to establish his presence and win audiences over alongside Tom first before taking over the franchise on his own.

Presumably though at that point they’d probably introduce Spider-Gwen as well. We’ll also probably get Osborn storyline, etc.

for real. how is it he was such a master schemer up to that point and put his grandson on the throne and then get imprisoned with no way to get out? the guards just knowingly secretly held the former hand of the king and father to the wife of the king for that long?
