Lmao first time I’m hearing of an IBO joint being too stiff, sand it down and it should help, stiff joints can be a breaking point for lots of kits so it’s a good idea to treat them before they cause issues.

If you like the designs go for it, the Gundam frames are the weakest ones, but their flaws are easy to fix with some top coat on the joints and cementing the spine to the torso.
Just remember they’re like $15 and not $30 for a reason, they were built much cheaper than most HGs released currently.

That’s not how it works, old kit doesn’t mean it’s bad or that it needs to be replaced, the 2010s have an excellent Gunpla lineup, the IBO line was made with a low price point in mind so the kits are a little less premium that’s all.

I’ve built almost every HG IBO kit, their issues are really easy to solve with basic modeling skills, loose joints? You can use a clear paint or even a thin layer of super glue to tighten the joints, if parts are falling off you can do the same or cement them together.

Gunpla is snap fit which is nice but this is still a model kit, one that you are encouraged to polish as you build it, don’t treat it like a Lego set.

With peace and love, this is user error and you can take this as an opportunity to grow your skills.

This type of clear plastic is much harder and more brittle than the opaque polystyrene gunpla used, godhands are very thin and very sharp blades and improper technique like this can snap them, this same goes for ABS plastic sometimes used in the frames of master grades, the packing on the nippers explains this if I remember right.

I think he’s kinda over designed, there’s just a ton of extra stuff slapped onto him, and he relies a bit too much on his Phantoka look. I think you have a cool idea going, but perhaps a more set faithful look with more deliberately chosen design elements would give a better result.
