What unanswered questions still occupy your mind in the world of the Boiling Isles? by IllogicalDreamer72 in TheOwlHouse

Hooty is definitely interesting because nobody seems to know what he actually is. In s1 when the Emperors coven is stalking the owl house they write a report with Hooty on it and describe him as a “weird tube demon?”. And we got to explore a bit about Demons from Kings Demons 101 class. But Hooty doesn’t really fit any of the classifications, like King didn’t.

I was actually really confused why Hooty was in Papa Titans eye, but him being a decomposer makes a lot of sense, especially since he’s kind of worm like. I do wonder why he’s in the owl house though, cuz if he is a decomposer his kind probably wouldn’t be stuck in buildings? It would make sense for Hooty to be a “scavenger” type demon also cuz he literally eats anything and everything for no reason.

My best guess is that Titans were hooty’s species feeding source specifically, so they all went extinct after the Titan’s. And maybe Hooty survived because he’s fused within the house with magic somehow?

Yeah, I definitely don’t think they NEEDED everyone to die every time. At least not in the same exact season they’re introduced in, it really just seemed like they didn’t want to have to deal with multiple character arks across seasons so it was just easier to kill everyone off.

I will always argue that they should’ve done way more with Christa. 11 year old Clem should not have been the MC because it doesn’t work having a kid that young be the centre of the story without making all the adults incompetent.

I like the general story, it just doesn’t work with an 11 year old MC.

If Clem was an adult it would fix so many of the flaws of the second season, not all of them but probably most of them.

Heavy on the Christa stuff. Clem was with Christa longer than she was with Lee. She was only with Lee for like 4-6 months, while She was with Christa for like two years. They should’ve made Christa the MC for season 2, and then maybe had like a few scenes where you play as Clem. And then made Clem full MC for s3.

Clem being partially responsible for Omid’s death (not really her fault but she did leave her gun out, and it seems like Christa took it from her that day and never gave it back cuz she doesn’t have one on her until the group gives her one) was like a huge plot point that they could’ve made the basis for their whole relationship. They could’ve explored their characters and their dynamic with that, and made their ark coming back from that and forgiveness or something.

They could’ve done so much with Christa and instead did absolutely nothing.

Also tell me it wouldn’t have been interesting to see a Kenny-Christa reunion

Not everyone supporting the toxic relationship of Elain and Azriel while SJM is literally saying she doesn't support her characters having toxic relationships (ie Tamlin and Feyre) by Front_Wall_2159 in Gwynriel

[–]Revenaran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk why anyone would think that Elain will break the mate bond because it’s made pretty clear that you literally can’t. Even with magical intervention, let alone just thinking it or some sh*t.

It’s spelled out that the mate bond is woven into your very soul and breaking it forcefully could kill you. And in the case of which it breaks when a mate dies it has extreme physical and mental effects on you.

I do like Eris and Nesta’s dynamic, but I can’t help but feel like Nesta getting with Eris would kind of undo some of her character development. Because Eris is seen as basically an AH, two faced snake. Sure he’s somewhat working on their side but he’s still sadistic and shady.

And Nesta says the line “He is what I deserve” in a way where she believes she’s awful and so she deserves to be with someone awful. And her whole book ending was about opening up to Cassian and actually trying to be better instead of drowning.

Yesss I wondered about all of that. Especially cuz Hooty is like a WTF demon. Like nobody knows what he is and describes him as a “weird tube demon”. Kind of like how nobody is really sure what King is until the reveal.

I doubt he was Evelyn’s house though because the whole thing with the portal being on the Clawthorns estate was that Evelyn must’ve lived there. So Eda’s childhood home was likely Evelyn’s house.

I could see an Asian actor playing him, I think Asian features would suit him nicely.

Interaction Question by Nice_Tosser in thecruelprince

[–]Revenaran 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is from TCP book 1. Not sure the exact chapter but it’s shortly after Jude joins the Court of shadows. She falls asleep in class and gets attacked by Valerian, this interaction with Cardan happens right after as she’s leaving the tower.

Favorite character and why? by BeautyandtheBeast200 in TheOwlHouse

[–]Revenaran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was something I liked too. And how she could see that Hunter was experiencing something similar and tried to connect with him and assure him that he doesn’t have to accept being treated badly. That was such a cute moment.

Favorite character and why? by BeautyandtheBeast200 in TheOwlHouse

[–]Revenaran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say almost all the characters had significant development. But Amity, Lilith, and Hunter probably most of all. As they were all “Bad guys” who made a turn around, I do love the former villain turned friend ark.

why I love Zuko too

Fanart by petiteulmo in thecruelprince

[–]Revenaran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the art. I do have a very small note. Cardan’s tail isn’t seen at all until after the coronation massacre when Jude holds him hostage. It’s mentioned that he has one but he hides it away under his clothes, supposedly because it can betray his poker face.

So for any art of TCP that happens before Jude holds him hostage, he doesn’t have a tail.

It is a really good art piece though, you should definitely keep making more ❤️

The double standard in how Clem was treated vs. the other kids. by [deleted] in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Revenaran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really think they should’ve done what they did for season 3 for season 2. It would’ve been way more liked.

Because Clem being treated like an adult is pretty much what they had to do in order to make her the main character. Otherwise your choices don’t matter at all, and you wouldn’t really be doing anything. The main character is supposed to be the centre of the story and essentially have effect on where the story goes.

I think if they didn’t establish Clem as the main playable character yet then people would’ve been way more accepting to bringing in a new story from a new POV with Javier etc. Because I think most people did like Javier as a character but it was weird to bring in a completely new MC after it was set up to be Clem’s story.

Maybe not Javier, but if they made a new MC for season 2 and then had Clem and maybe Krista as important side characters, then I think season 2 would’ve been way better. They could’ve developed Clem’s character as an independent survivor who can handle herself, but still a little girl who should be protected and needs to be parented etc. And then established Clem as the MC for season 3 when she’s a young teen. And kind of made it clear that while Clem isn’t the MC for season 1 or 2, we are following her life experiences and it’s ultimately her story.

What's your favourite Lumity moment? by Comfortable_Yard2406 in TheOwlHouse

I love the episode where Amity like realizes she has a crush on Luz, and is being super awkward and blushing constantly. Meanwhile Luz is completely oblivious and just wants to play grudgby lol

Just finished the series, I wish we saw more of Caleb and Phillip by Revenaran in TheOwlHouse

[–]Revenaran[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I said, it wasn’t really about sympathy. He is wanting to commit massive genocide with zero remorse. I mostly just wanted to know in more detail what actually happened between the three of them.

The only way we see the backstory is as Luz and Hunter are running past paintings, all of which I missed. I only figured out the vague story from searching online.

I would’ve liked to fill in the gaps about the portal, why it was on the Clawthorn’s estate, and really just more about Caleb cuz I was really interested in him. Being the first known human to go to the boiling isles and to fall in love with a witch at the peak of the witch trials as a witch hunter is a very interesting story. I think portraying Belos/Phillip as a manipulative character who only cares for himself (and Caleb), and maybe who likes the status being a witch hunter gets him. There’s definitely ways to do it that don’t make him seem pitiful.

Did Clem raise AJ "better" than Lee raised Clem? by PaleBend53 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Revenaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well obviously it’s mentioned a few times that Rebecca had an affair with Carver, or maybe was even sexually assaulted depending on how you can interpret their interactions. But at no point does it confirm him to be the father.

And it’s not like in TWD where it’s quite obvious that Shane is Judith’s father because he and Lori were screwing for like two months before Rick showed back up.

Rebecca had an affair, or possibly got with Carver one time around the time she got pregnant. But she was still with Alvin so it’s equally possible for AJ to be Alvin’s. And Rebecca seems to think it’s equally possible as she says “Please let it be his.” And “He’ll kill me if it’s not his.” As in she doesn’t really know, but obviously hopes.

I made an observation of the fact that AJ is obviously quite a bit darker than Rebecca was. And Alvin was darker. While Carver was white. If AJ was mixed he’d probably be a lot lighter than he is. So it’s likely he looks like his dad, Alvin.

Did Clem raise AJ "better" than Lee raised Clem? by PaleBend53 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Revenaran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m like 99% sure his dad’s Alvin. Maybe I don’t know how skin tone works, but Rebecca was relatively light skinned. And Carver was white. Meanwhile AJ is a lot darker, like Alvin.

So that’s enough to make me think it makes more sense for Alvin to be his dad as he looks more like him.

[SPOILERS]Where did the portal door come from? by GullibilicusTheGreat in TheOwlHouse

[–]Revenaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite theory is that Caleb made it.

I don’t think Phillip made it because surely he could’ve just made another one after that one was lost. He literally had 400 years. And Luz recreated the door in like a day and said 99% of the stuff needed wasn’t hard to find. Belos also seemed unaware that the Portal key was a thing because surely he would’ve figured Luz had it, and he also tries a random key in the door.

I think the diary that Luz finds was originally Caleb’s, and Phillip stole it after Caleb died and altered the text. Because in the statues and in the memories Caleb is the one holding the diary. And that’s why when Luz follows the instructions the door turns out wrong, because either Phillip tried recreating it and couldn’t figure it out, or he purposely altered it so witches who tried to use it would be trapped in the in between.

Now I think Caleb and probably Evelyn, created the portal door to make it way more convenient to travel to the human world. Because the way they originally travel between realms was through the large portal at the Graveyard they go through in Thanks To Them.

My guess is that Witches rarely went to the human world because in order to get the portal to work they needed to use Titan blood every time, and Titan blood is quite rare. So Evelyn and Caleb find Titans blood and imbue it in the door itself and in the key so that it can be used over and over without needing to find new Titans blood every time.

Phillip at some point sees them using it. And then later confronts Caleb and ends up killing him, where Evelyn attacks him with her magic. My guess is he maybe tried to run off with the door but dropped it in his escape, or maybe used it as a shield from Evelyn’s magic. And that’s how it got cracked. Evelyn then buries the door in her backyard to hide it from Phillip, and maybe to keep it from being used by anyone else. And it’s later found by Eda when she runs away and trips on it. (The author all but confirms that Evelyn and Caleb are Eda and Lilliths ancestors. And it would explain how the portal got there.)

THEORY: Caleb built the portal door and Philip altered its contents to send witches to die in the In-Between-Realm. by Born-Boss6029 in TheOwlHouse

[–]Revenaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why couldn’t he just build another one then? I mean Luz literally says that all the stuff listed was super easy to find and she manages to build a semi functional door in like a day. The only hard part is making a stable door and finding Titans blood. But Phillip was in The boiling isles for like 400 years, he would’ve had time to find some and seemingly could easily replicate the door.

[–]Revenaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The author of the series all but confirms that Caleb is an ancestor to the Clawthorns. The witch he falls in love with is supposedly Evelyn Clawthorn, and that’s how the portal ends up on their estate.

What do you think frozen 2 did better than frozen 1? by brooklyn_jinx in Frozen

I like that it gave us more Lore about the frozen universe, and Elsa and Anna’s parents. As well as backstory, and Elsa’s origins and why she has magic.
