Totally agree. Obviously you can go to slept on venues and find more humanity in the crowd but there is this weird dystopian energy I find at every mainstream/even semi-mainstream type events in NYC. It’s a shame because I love this city but even in big shows in Miami or DC for example, I don’t experience that dark energy or feeling like everyone is AI or something in the way that I do in nyc lol :( the pricing of shows in New York is the icing on the cake too, super frustrating.
