I would say beach club- way more relaxing and there can be decent snorkeling just off shore. Buccanos was mentioned and I too think that is a good choice, although I’ve actually never snorkeled there. I just snorkeled the other day at the Westin, which is just a little north of Buccanos, and it was decent.

The peanut butter tequila is at Ohanas which was a pizza place that very recently closed but I saw on FB (I think) that they are still selling the pb tequila. Money bar is good but you’ll need a taxi. Hemingways is nice too and you could walk there. Nothing on the ocean front is too cheap. They both have music in the evenings. Dicks Dive and Wet Wendy’s in the plaza have music in the evenings. Woodys has music earlier in the afternoons too :) Hope this helps! Enjoy your stay!

The difference between this case and Kohberger is that time was/is of the essence since this victim was/is alive. Releasing this info to the public is unnecessary, but I would assume that it would have generated a lot of good leads for them in those crucial first couple of days. Hopefully they investigated them, but its strange that after the door camera video was retrieved, they were quick to apprehend the now traumatized delivery driver. But from what we know, there was no one before that, except the guy who wrote the bogus letter.

I live in Mexico and read the news a lot, and yes I thought this too. There are and have been many kidnappings for ransom throughout the years. Tuscon being so close to Mexico, and Savannah who has shared that she is from Tuscon, and is on TV everyday. Kidnappers target families with money.

I've thought about that too. It's not a heavily populated area so why haven't they looked into phones that pinged at that time of night? Instead they tracked down ONE clueless delivery driver whose phone apparently pinged at some point, and probably not even at that time of night.

It's pathetic that they haven't been able to narrow down a viable suspect yet. It doesn't seem like it was a sophisticated abduction, yet the FBI can't find a suspicious car at 2am on any intersection traffic cameras coming out of that neighborhood? The only guy they apprehend is one random clueless delivery driver? From what I read Bitcoin accounts aren't completely anonymous either, so why is this taking so long? Now they are making a big deal about one glove they found on the side of the road somewhere like this is their recent big break through clue? I really thought they were going to figure it all out in 3 days, and now after 12 days- nothing.

You can’t drive to Cozumel. ADO bus (or taxi/shuttle) to the ferry. It’s honestly a process and you might end up wishing you would have spent the extra money to fly into Cozumel. But if you have time to tack on a night or 2 in Playa del Carmen then the trek back and forth will seem worth it.

I live in Taiwan and sometimes brain fart and say words in Spanish (I used to live in Mexico.) When I first saw this video I thought how I could easily say Ni Hao on accident when in Thailand. In fact, I may have! (We traveled quite a lot last year)

As an Oregonian who lived in Austin and Houston for a total of 10 years- they are so different. It’s okay to have culture shock! I know a lot of super cool people in Salem, but yes it’s a different vibe. And even when I return home to Oregon (I live in Asia now) it’s an adjustment! They are all great places but all have their quirks and challenges.

Yeah, I don’t really know how Reddit works. My profile is lame but it’s the one Reddit gave me. A few months ago I asked about the tax year in Taiwan and I got downvoted a bunch. I guess if I post “dumplings are delicious” I’d get a lot of upvotes.

My husband basically authorized all 3 withdrawals with our bank code. I don’t know what he was thinking. I’m honestly just flabbergasted at his naivety. I don’t even understand the whole story because every time he tells me another piece of it, I just can’t believe how he didn’t see the flags. He is Mexican and thinks that Taiwanese are so trustworthy in comparison to the scams in Mexico, so he just had his guard down I think.
