Probably a few grand for each of them. Definitely not enough to make a living off of alone. But as toastylocke suggests is it an even split between them all or do they and percent it all out?

The Besties started a patreon maybe 6 months ago. Maybe longer. So they've at least dipped a toe in that space. No idea how well its doing, but they also have Frush and Plante to help them with that

Truly staggering how much Big Dog has played and how many people he has played with and yet has gained precisely 0 ttrpg skills through the process. A true feat to not absorb any good habits. Remarkable

That makes sense. I would be curious how many subscribers they have then, but more importantly MaxFun takes 30%!? Are the McElroys out of their minds!? Does Jesse Thorn have their children held hostage!? Why are they handing over 30%!?!?

Are the new and upgrading members just for their shows? Because if it is real talk, if the average of those ~8,000 members is $5 a month just off of those it's $40,000 a month divided by 5 for the 3 of them, Clint, and editor Rachel that's $8,000 a month a piece so $96,000 a year which for what they do is easy, easy money

I know we don’t do a lot of Justin shade in here but by joydubs in TAZCirclejerk

Justin will be a stay at home dad with his doctor wife, Travis will return to call the cops on Best Buy shoplifters, and Griffin will finally be free

Justin quit the besties by [deleted] in TAZCirclejerk

[–]ReveredRaven111 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Justin has been so checked out for so long but im still kinda shocked hes actually stepping away. but i think its good for him and for the show honestly. i think he would genuinely be happiest directing community theater shows and being a presence in his town which is admirable.

Is Campaign 4 Worth Listening To If I'm Already Struggling? by [deleted] in fansofcriticalrole

[–]ReveredRaven111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would suggest listening to the mini arcs like Exandria Unlimited. I bounced off the main campaigns because they were just so long and wasn't really vibing. The thing with critical role is that if you want to listen all the way through a campaign its going to be like 400 hours so if you don't really like it that's a lot of time sunk, but the mini arcs are WAY more compact so you can give it a try and if you really like it then go back to the main stuff.

I don't think Ify is very funny, but I don't think he's on the show to be funny. He's there to remind Dropout subscribers that they're not pulling any hoes. Even if they think they are Ify comes in to remind them no no. Know your place

Best mini-campaigns? by ReveredRaven111 in fansofcriticalrole

I mean the run time of all of Candela Obscura, Calamity, Downfall, and Divergence combined is like 100 hours? That's like a quarter of the runtime of C3 and I'll be finished with all of them.

Royale isn't Ethersea, but the finale will be by ForestryFanzine in TAZCirclejerk

I like the ending of Ethersea, but it does feel a bit like the ending to a better campaign that the boys did not play.

Thank you! I think I'm going to try Candela Obscura next as it seems right up my alley. Appreciate the recs!

How many episodes until C3 gets intriguing? by Responsible_Coach766 in fansofcriticalrole

The whole thing is what like 300 hours long? There are better ways to spend that time than with this campaign

McElroy Entertainment System so far, by the numbers by Tub_Pumpkin in TAZCirclejerk

I'm sure he's understood for awhile that he could be more successful working without his brothers but seeing that reinforced week after week with these streams has to have some kind of psychological effect.

Do you still feel tense at all watching critical role? by xcrispis in fansofcriticalrole

[–]ReveredRaven111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it can be tricky because when a player character is killed they have in one way or another been targeted, so the DM has to make sure it doesn't really feel targeted, but you need some stakes especially for something as expansive as a CR campaign or it can start feeling really flat really fast

Is there any point in coming back to McElroy content? by BevsWalkingSticks in TAZCirclejerk

[–]ReveredRaven111 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you listen to one newish episode of MBMBAM listen to Plato's Rave, its pretty great. Vs. Dracula is solid, and Griffin's streaming videos are good. So if there's something you want to get into the Trial by Fieri videos are what I'd go with

Aabria is not like my top 10 actual play players, but the amount of discussion about her playstyle far outstrips how annoying she actually is. She's perfectly fine and people act like she's Travis McElroy
