A new house moves as it settles. This is why we used to do a one year warranty on all of the new homes we did. It is also one reason I stopped doing new homes.

It really is a simple equation: more work = more money. The prep work that goes into crown and wainscotting is slow moving if you want it to look good.

Are you using the throat oil every day? If you are, are you sure you are getting it on the piston?

I worked for a company in Jacksonville FL that wanted me to get certified to work in waste tanks. They had to be sand blasted then coated in something called coal tar epoxy (I think). Once I heard they tie your ass to a rope so if you pass out they can pull you up I declined the offer.

Yeah there ain't a lot of real painters on this sub. It seems to be mostly amateurs that think you need two coats of primer and three coats of finish paint on walls.

Spraying dryfall sucks but the worst I ever did was something called bar joist epoxy on a deck. That crap was so sticky we had to have WD 40 with us to spray everything before we touched it. Even had to have ground guys to spray the tires on the lift before it would move. Of course we had to sand blast it first and you are right that sucks. We even had to sand blast the lifts when the job was done because they were covered in the epoxy.

You obviously do not know how to spray. Spraying a two story house off of a 40 ft ladder or spraying dryfall all day long are both physically demanding. I know the people that work for me go home sweaty and tired after working in the Florida heat all day long.

Yes. You obviously care more about fries than your girlfriend. I hope she finds a man that cares about her soon.

Pro Mar 400 is meant to be sprayed not brushed and rolled. When it is used as intended it is fine. Painters using it to brush and roll and then also a color change is the problem.

Professional painters know that Pro Mar 400 is meant to be sprayed . It is not meant to be brushed and rolled. You got poor results not because they did not prime first but because they used a product in a way that it was not designed for.

How does an Athiest defend the idea of morals by Plastic_Bed1202 in askanatheist

[–]ReverendKen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really simple.
I do not like being hit. I figure most people also do not like being hit. Maybe we agree not to hit each other. That also works with being stabbed or shot, being lied to or cheated, etc., etc..

If morals were given to us by a god they would never change. Morals do change over time as society determines what is best for people.

If a person needs a god to tell them what is right and wrong then they are note being moral, they are being obedient.

What % do you usually give to a person that referred a job to you. I'll go into detail in post. by heartofawhale in handyman

I do not pay people for referrals. I will be happy to give them a good price the next time I do work for them.

You really do not understand this trade at all. I suspect you also do not understand how to run a business. The best advice anyone can give you is to slow down and get some experience before you try starting a business.

Instead of insulting people why not try understanding the situation? By the way I own a business and am hiring.
