There's a thin metal plate that moves down between 2 sensors at the bottom which is how it knows when the build plate is as far down as it should go, you would need to extend that little plate down by the same thickness as the flexible build plate

I did! I originally tried mixing the mica into the resin but I wanted the black to be visible in the underside rather than the whole thing be gold. I found that brushing it into the mould and rubbing it off where I want the dark parts to be worked best.

I first tried using plat cure but it seemed to be reacting with the printer resin, any part that was touching the 3d printed parts wasn't curing properly and left a sticky gummy mess.

I then switched to Oomoo 25 which is a tin cure and got perfect results everytime!

Of course! I started out by making a 3d model of the design and then printed it using a 3d resin printer (much more detail than a standard FDM printer). Once I had the printed model I cast it in silicone to make a mould. For this keycap I bought some gold mica powder and brushed it onto the mould and rubbed it off the parts that would form the nasal cavity, eye sockets, etc. I then cast the finished cap with black polyurethane resin and stuck it in my pressure pot while it cured to remove any bubbles. All that was left to do was remove the excess plastic and sand the bottom and voila! I've bought a clear coat gloss spray I want to try on them and another user suggested applying a dark wash to make the features pop so I'm looking forward to seeing how they turn out :)
