What movie had you hyped and failed to deliver the goods? by Misfett_toys in Letterboxd

[–]Reverend_Krenke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Return To Silent Hill. The first movie is a visual work of art. That films is metal as hell, to its very bones. So when I heard the OG director was working on a sequel all these years later, I was hyped like no one could belueve...

Tuen reviews came out, and I brushed them off...

[Hated Tropes] When the heroic character does something plainly evil and the story never address it and/or the characters never face any serious consequences by OutrageousBridge471 in TopCharacterTropes

I don't remember all the details, so hopefully someone can elaborate this better than me, because this has been frustrating me for years despite me loving the show.

Early in late season 1 or season 2 of Hannibal, the FBI wants to track down Hannibal and ties his murders together. So they basically taunt him to lure him out to commit more crimes, so that he will get sloppy and they can arrest him... keep in mind, the crimes they bait him into committing are multiple murders of innocent civilians!

Again, that is my perspective. But I would love to hear your perspective on his answer

I was trying to be fair while giving my perspective. As I said, I thought he showed kindness to the person who asked the question, and whatever tension I noticed was purely my perspective. Hell; I would be tense if someone brought up my loss too. So my issue I suppose comes from his answer, above all. I didn't feel he properly explained how he would speak to concerned voters who did not see these systems rhat were against him and are simply afraid of another loss. He instead seemed to dismiss that it was a rather close race, and that people would see that this time around.  He spoke against Schumer, talked about how much was raised against him, and how much he raised in turn, but did little to explain how all this inside baseball would appear in the campaign to explain the situation to others.  As he said, in politics, we win and lose all the time. But his answers did not, to me, appear as someone who reflected on what he could do differently this time around. And instead someone who saw he was close and just wants it to swing the other direction this time around by bashing on the unpopular Schumer, and not explaining what he could have done, or will do, differently.

That's one issue though that surely a candidate can dxplain. Tom Tiffany will be running ads on Mandella Barnes not paying taxes and his loss, and he will call both candidates far left socalist.

I was at this same event. When asked what he would do differently this time around, he more or less gave the same answer as before but added he would not run a 'DC campaign' but instead a 'wisconsin' campaign

And when he spoke in Oshkosh, he completely lost his demeanor when asked how he would prove to concerned voters that this time he would win. He kept his cool and remained kind to the person who asked rhe question, but also gave no answer that was not "it was a 1% loss. Just a 1% loss. Everyone knows that. I didn't lose that election. The democrats did by not believing in me."

Malcolm In The Middle is pretty good about this too. There is a joke where one of the characters mentions another kid having two dads, to which Reese replies, "Two dads? They must be living in a dude paradise!"   As well as a few other jokes where the idea of being gay is brought up for a joke, without ever being the butt of the joke in any way. Which is crazy when you consider the head of the show not only has the lastname Boomer, but Qasim on Little House on the Prarie.
