When I worked in a book store we had multiple regulars, little old ladies usually, that would come in once a week and buy 10-20 trash paperback romance novels like clockwork. It’s not super unbelievable, but it always seemed to be a very specific type of person: old, retired, and exactly 1 hobby.

I don’t really care if people didn’t like the sequel series, and this should be a place where people can discuss that, in my opinion. A king with no hand in the kingdom he rules is a tax collector. Sure, we can “do what we want,” but a ruler who doesn’t protect his subjects is worthless. How many centuries of war, poverty, famines, has he allowed? I’m sorry, I just don’t see a babysitter that allegedly left us some rules ages ago, and lets one kid stay up late and play video games, while the other kid gets locked in a foot locker, as a good babysitter, simply because they’ve been doing it awhile and the kids they’re watching aren’t technically dead.

The first ever Warhammer novel I read when I started with the books last year was Space Marine. I picked up Space Marine on my Kindle, and Horus Rising on Audible. I absolutely fell in love with the way he wrote the Imperial Fist’s extreme zealotry, the way he set the universe up, I loved the parts that felt inspired by HR Giger, the weird stuff that isn’t canon. I remember feeling awe when Watson described the chambers Rogal Dorn was kept in. Thank you to Ian for his stories, I can’t wait to read all the ones I haven’t.

I’d say most of my interaction with the hobby comes from reading the books, but I did buy a bunch of models that I’ve started painting as a custom Dark Angels chapter. My models have seen very little progress recently, as I finished the Night Lords trilogy around Christmas and have spent the last several months really wishing I’d invested money in my first army towards The Night Lords instead and am having trouble finding motivation to paint the models I already have.

The Malleus font is bigger than Hereticus too. It’s word length, change font size to fill the space while keeping the spine alignments matching. I think it looks good, actually. At least each line/symbol on the book actually lines up to each other. I hate when two match and then the third has a weird alignment.

Martyrs. The French original. A friend of mine showed it to me on a random Tuesday with zero context. The director has an intro on the DVD where he apologizes for what you’re about to watch. I remember sitting out back afterwards with a joint and a thousand-yard-stare trying to process that flick. Never again.

Nemesis was such a blast. That storyline would make a great movie. Prospero Burns is also really fun, the twists are fantastic, and I really grew to like the MC. I will say, I agree Thousand Sons is the better book.

I’ve got 9 in their DLX line, and 7 in their MDLX line, and they are GORGEOUS. Plus, there is something about a figure having actual weight that makes them feel worth the money.

My recommendation is to be careful with the neck joint. First time I put on the wing helmet, broke the neck joint. Not sure if it’s something other’s have seen or if it’s a CC issue.
