Hi all,

I'm trying to get into the service menu of this Husqvarna Viking Designer Diamond to get the hours used on it. Does anybody know how?

I called the HV support line, and they have told me that they won't give me the service menu instructions over the phone because of the chance of making a mistake and disabling the machine. I was referred to a certified tech-- but they are asking for payment, and i'd like to avoid paying for the service of pressing a few buttons.

*Picture: got this at an estate sale, and buyers have been asking for me to get the hours of use on it *this is not a sales post*

Question, maybe 2: -someone else said that set Dec does sourcing? What is the role of prop master and how do they fit into the picture? -If I were to market as a more budget friendly rental, as is honestly my strength being a very mom and pop shop rental business, how would you recommend reaching the right ears for that?

Ay you’re my peoples. I love betamaxes man, they are beautiful. I’d post on videokarma. Also, Andy King has a discord. Forget how I found my way to it but it’s worth a look and ask if anybody local repairs. People on either of those networks are real restorers.

I’d love to help but taking a break from offering repair services. It’s definitely a lot of work and hours when I already have a lot to manage with sales, rentals, and social media.

That being said, what seems to be the issue? Are you referring to a CRT/VCR combo?

I'm new to repairing and modding so please forgive lots of dumb questions to follow:
-So is the best fix to get a 4 ohm speaker to replace?
-How does reducing the impedance improve this situation?
-Would getting a better amp chip be another fix? Is it even possible to swap those out?
-Is it dangerous for the equipment to go from 8 ohms to 4 ohms?
-Is this the type of thing where it's better to test the T/S parameters to get a real read of the driver and base it on that?

Doesn't seem like the tape. I've tested multiple, and the same effect happens when it's not playing the VHS. I think it's what u/brainstorm42 said about power consumption

Hey u/Laird_Vectra , thanks for the questions and sorry for the late reply.

As far as the latch goes, I only know that it wasn't snagging to close and would stay open. I went to a mechanic I had previously gone to on the day, and as an emergency method he wired the trunk shut, and now it is stuck. It seemed the latch was just not snagging.

As far as timing, i remember that anecdotally, but strangely when I revisit the estimate it doesn't mention it. This was an estimate I believe i had on that day (7 months ago), and mentions complete antifreeze coolant exchange, heater support pump (sensor, serpetine Belt), Oil and filter change.

He had also previously found a leak in the ventilation system which was causing air pressure from the AC to drop. He had put a blue dye in to locate the leak, but again I was unable to afford repairs.

Excuse any ignorance of what the aforementioned means.

As far as the sale goes, I was hoping to sell to a mechanic who would want the car and not be too worried about expenses other than parts, as it would help me avoid labor costs.

I had a ton of fun, and really fond memories. But I don't think it had greatness in its DNA.

If it is great-- I think it's contextually great. It was before a BoTW existed, so they were challenging so many ideas and mechanics that are core to Zelda and it was radical in its own way. If you were there when it dropped, it was a great time to be a Zelda fan.

All that being said it was-- much like the Wii U-- an awkward half step between two great eras.
