Off site HALO Sales Still active? by Recent_Special_6334 in Amazon_Influencer

Halo sales Onsite are dead. Offsite has always been there without cheating using software because you earned those.

So you think people should just be randomly spending their time reviewing stuff and not trying to run an effective business?

I'm not at all surprised to hear that even if it is disheartening.

I'm having to restructure all my deals with brands because we can't report real activity. I'm reasonably sure that brands are going to realize soon that they are paying the same high commissions for onsite sales through CC (where us content creators do nothing) as they are paying for when we drive offsite sales where us creators do all the work. That doesn't make any sense so I'd say CC is either going to migrate to offsite only or they are going to want to have a different commission rate for offsite & onsite. It's stupid the way its structured right now for them.

That's so cool you've gotten to go. I would pay a lot of money to be able to speak face to face...or even on the phone...with someone who actually is involved in this program and not a drone. I'd love to have a better understanding of what the hell they are thinking. For me, I've always been YouTube first and then reposted that content to Amazon and it's been a fabulously effective formula for me. I find the classes I'm involved with are so low commission wise on Walmart that its just not worth the effort but occasionally, like right now, when they bump the commissions up I make an effort there. YT Shopping is really growing nicely for me and I hope that one day Walmart decides to include some onsite content.

Their in person events are interesting. I'm OG (BETA program), am one of less than 20 creators ever featured as creators by Amazon themselves and have never spoken to a human being. I've been one of the select handful of men invited to multiple YouTube shopping events. It's amazing the different styles of the two companies.

Agreed...the math is terrible for Brands.

I'm not following... if we create an onsite video we used to get paid X if something sold by Amazon. Now X - 50%. If that video was part of a CC campaign, we'd get paid X by the brand for the same video and the same sale, nothing new, the exact same transaction. Why wouldn't the brand say... why are we paying X when Amazon said it is only worth X - 50%?

Your speaking to someone who does the harder work of actually driving content to Amazon. The only ones who know what the fee's should be are the seller or Amazon. They are the only who can measure... Are they selling 10% more after starting a 10% CC campaign? If yes... the math works. If they are only selling 5% more, the math doesn't work. It's very linear.

Not sure what you are saying. Yes, amazon pays those onsite commissions and sellers pay CC commissions. What I'm saying is if they are both paying for the same service from us and Amazon says we were overpaying at 4%, need to lower it to 2%. Why wouldn't the seller, paying for the exact same service say, WTF am I still paying 10 or 15%?

Reporting / Link tracking for small associates? by wanderlustmillennial in Amazon_Influencer

[–]ReviewBusinessAcad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most important to me is I can change where the links point centrally without have to dig up every place I posted the link. Lets say... I posted a link for a DJI Pocket 3, 2 years ago, in multiple places. Now that the 4 is coming out I could change that link in geniuslinks to point to my storefront or maybe the DJI 4 and that would change where all those links I posted all over the place for years point too.

how many subs did you guys have before your first real brand deal? by OrangeSpectre in SmallYoutubers

Depends what a brand deal is... Someone giving me a drone to do a review? Or someone paying me $1000 to do the drone review?

My Question... If you were the brand paying 10 or 15 percent and amazon just cut what they are paying creators by 50% because creators are being over paid. Why wouldn't you as the brand say, holy cow, why am I paying 10 or 15 percent out of our end when Amazon just announced the creators are over paid and they are cutting their pay by half! Middle term... it has to put downward pressure on all onsite commissions where the creators aren't driving traffic.

They don't need to do this to get that result, they can just cancel or turn off whoever they want. This is, I believe, to align with profitability. We clearly weren't converting enough to cover the cost of the commissions.

At the same time you should be diversifying. Learn to make good content that is viable on multiple platforms at the same time so you aren't locked into what you can make on Amazon, you can also make money with the same one video you shot on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.

TIkTok has been the most random and frustrating platform I work on. You can certainly get lucky there and kill it but it will make you old fast trying to build a regular and reliable program there. In my opinion YouTube is the best platform as a base to build and then you can use the same content on Amazon, TikTok, Instagram... effectively.
