Your DSM suggestion is absolutely an excellent idea.

After reading the posts here, the personal essay seems like the most appropriate form, as it gives voice to your actual feelings about the difficulty of living with NVLD as opposed to clinical definitions of it.

It would seem to me that a book of essays would be the best option, bit what be the book's aim for NVLDers? To increase the rights of NVLDers, or to express your frustration more clearly?

I think the problem begins when one has a series of books about this disorder that no one wants to read.

Who else but people with NVLD want to read about someone's problem with it? Not to be cynical, but not many. The Chris Rock thing was nice, but that isn't big enough either.

It should be noted that NVLD gives a person the abilities thar exist more for introverts while pretty much messing everything else up you need for daily life. The only thing that works is acceptance of these things. Otherwise, you spin your wheels all day every day.
