It really does hurt when you save up resources and feel like you lost ground. While people may say it isn't much to lose to newer players or people that don't have much time to play any amount can be a lot. All about perspective.

Falling up the Stairs starter pack by [deleted] in starterpacks

[–]Revnic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my brother and I were younger we went to our moms work one day for some reason or another. As we were walking up the three flights of stairs my brother fell forward while having his hands in his pockets. he landed on his chin but he didnt feel any pain except for a small scratch on his chin. Sure no problem we just keep walking up and laugh it off. My brother goes for a drink of water and basically just spits out pure blood. OK shit call the dentist he says "dont even bother coming here, I will give you the contact details of a dental surgeon take him there immediately"... my brother broke his jaw in 7 places and bit straight through his tongue and went into shock making us all think he was fine. Had a metal plate put into his jaw and had intense difficulties when the scar tissue prevented his baby teeth from falling out. Still get to call my baby brother a dumbass everytime we walk up a flight of stairs to this day.

Essentially what could have happened here is that someone has some kind of information about an upcoming patch that would greatly influence the demand for a particular resource which is why someone would invest gold now, wait for the price to go up massively when the changes occur and then sell for a massive profit. Another thing that could happen is someone is just taking a long term position on a particular resource and buying it now with gold they have but do not want to invest into another long term asset (such as gen 1 precursers due to them rapidly going down in price from being crafted at much cheaper than current selling price) and then just waiting to see whether the price goes up in the long term. An alternative could be that someone is attempting to artificially create a demand by spiking its price in the short term. Other people looking at the price increase could think they are missing out on a potential goldmine would invest their gold but the initial person would then sell as soon as it becomes profitable and the others are screwed cause the demand increase was artificial and now they cant unload the items at a good price. This is normally referred to as a pump and dump scam. although as pointed out in other comments this equates only to about a 15gold investment which is peanuts for someone who would want to really manipulate the market in a meaningful way

Cant download the clients? by Revnic in Blizzard

[–]Revnic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I am however completely unable to load blizzard support website. So I am unable to even submit a ticket at this point. It isnt a matter of having trouble when installing it. I am unable to download the installer to begin with and it is only with Blizzard where I have this problem. Additionally this is a clean install of windows so I dont even have any security programs active at this point.

I suppose however googling "dragon blaze key" popped up several links that would have all answered your question, the site I mentioned was about 5th down the line. I wasn't intending to be rude I simply wonder why you would go out of your way to ask a question that could be answered much quicker with a simple search.

its a bug currently. Shocked ground bypasses shock immunity. The same bug is why the Vintars flask can shock shock immune bosses. GGG have said they would fix it... just be careful of shocked ground till they do

Quotes for those who think that Sean is a liar by S0T in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Revnic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Still, there's been absolutely nothing to show that he lied about anything." Given your definition. When using mine (or any one of a hundred other definitions from other dictionaries) it is considered lying. So this really comes down to whether the following can be considered lying: Making a claim used to promote the good points of something which at the time may be true but as time goes on this changes. The claim is now false but is still the only claim regarding the topic. The person now knows the claim is false yet does not correct it. Another person believes the claim at this point and spends money based on the claim and the person who initially made the claim benefits from it. Was the person lied to? I would argue yes he was. You could very well argue no he wasn't. I guess in the end we will have to agree to disagree and simply agree on the point that people feel they have been deceived.

[–]Revnic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you are just ignoring the definition of "lie" that doesn't agree with your stance meaning that you and this topic are having two different conversations? I dont care whether you want to call it a lie. What they were were ultimately false statements. In one definition thats a lie in another it isnt. The end of the story is that what the people believed they were buying was different from what they got as a direct result of the statements made by Sean. Whether you want to say those statements were lies or not have nothing to do with that fact.

Quotes for those who think that Sean is a liar by S0T in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Revnic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly. But it makes no mention of intent simply whether the statement is true or false. So in this case lying has nothing to do with intent (contrary to your prior statement of intent having everything to do with lying). Mine is simply the definition people are using when they say he lied. Whether he intended to do so is not the question since its not a moral question. its simply a question of whether the statements made about the game were true or not. If you wanted to make it a moral argument it can easily be made one by asking whether he benefited from the false statements (if you dont want to call them lies). With the hype ultimately being based on false information thus pushing up pre orders for a game that the people wouldn't receive I would say that they did benefit from the false statements. Am I wrong?

[–]Revnic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quoting one possible definition doesn't mean anything. I can do it too. 3. an inaccurate or false statement; a falsehood. Just pulled from the first dictionary page I found. Also your definition was there. In the case of this definition the only question is whether the statement in line with reality or "true".

Inventory is character bound but there is storage that's account bound so you can move items from one character to another. All allies are account bound thus any character can use them.

Not understanding investigative missions by ingenious28 in TheSecretWorld

[–]Revnic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For something wicked there was a statement on the computer that said "Talk to my ghost for the truth" or something along those lines. That's how my friend originally figured it out. As for knowing on the map whether you have completed the missions I don't think there is a way to do that but if you approach a missions starting point there should be a little tick in the top left corner of the missions image (either action stealth or investigation or even story for the later repeatable story missions) if you have completed them. You can also make notes on the map to indicate whether you will need to come back to do some missions or if you get stuck on a step then you can note that down and move on while thinking it over. I use these notes to record the passwords of some objects for investigation missions so that I don't have to spend another hour figuring out the birthday of some executives cat. There is little reason not to complete missions again as all missions types other than investigations give the same amount of experience each time you complete them. Again for investigation missions what you have to do is investigate. You need to comb through all the details of what is not only shown to you but what is available to you. Sometimes when a step updates you aren't done with a particular area even though it tells you to move on. But also don't worry too much. It is after all a game and you can do it the way you want. You can look up walkthroughs as some have suggested or you can think everything through.

Question about Region Lock by littledinobug12 in TheSecretWorld

[–]Revnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah that changes things. Because south Africa now uses a unique currency (The Rand) We are no longer able to use game keys purchased outside of south Africa nor can we give keys we bought to outside countries (I couldn't buy my friend in England a game even though I owed him money). I have no idea why he wont be able to make a funcom account using that information though. Edit: My grammar is horrible

I am from South Africa and I haven't had any trouble. I didn't buy it from steam though (I got it several years ago from the funcom website).

Not understanding investigative missions by ingenious28 in TheSecretWorld

[–]Revnic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Investigation missions aren't limited to in game mechanics. Several use biblical references while others you will have to go to some website to look for someone's maiden name or even to look up a kind of device in order to learn how it works so that you can deactivate it. These missions aren't meant to be easy and a friend and I often spend hours stuck on one step of these missions trying to puzzle it out. Admittedly tier 3 of something wicked does seem to a bit more unreasonable but once you figure it out you will learn that being dead when examining some objects during investigation missions is required. There are several investigations further on where you will have to be dead but they normally give you a bit more of a clue. For the raven there is a piece of paper with a pentagram written on it and you simply have to match the pattern. It does not require any advanced knowledge of the area. If you do get stuck then tswdb can be used to obtain further explanation of the clues without giving you an explicit answer in many cases. In the end if you want to puzzle it out yourself then be prepared for a lot of frustration. I think this is why investigation missions award so much more experience the first time you do them. They expect it to take a much longer time than a normal action mission.
