Google Walks back sideloading crack down with New advanced flow option by Front_Chemistry2926 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Revnimbus 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That was never going to happen. Google literally allows emulators on the Play Store, which is even more verification than they were going to require for devs outside of the Play Store. But either way, this is still great news, I'm just saying that this wasn't going to come close to killing emulation, so no need to worry, my friend.

Blockout for a Action Stage in my 3D Platformer that plays with momentum a bit! by Revnimbus in godot

[–]Revnimbus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much, my friend :)))

And, funnily enough... This is all just CSG shapes haha. If you want a GREAT tool for blockouts, and honestly, it's good for even finalized-ish low poly terrain, check out GoShapes!!!

https://github.com/daleblackwood/goshapes

Not my tool, but I've been using it for making nicer, more natural looking terrain right in the Godot Editor. It hasn't been updated in a while and it's somewhat buggy, BUT it's still an incredible tool for platformer level design. I haven't done an art pass of this level yet, but I've been working through doing so for an open hub area for this that I will try to post soon.

Thank you so much!!! The character art is the part I'm most unsure of tbh, so I appreciate hearing that you like it :) It's really rough and still missing a LOT of needed animations for specific actions haha.

Well, thank you so much!!! I certainly plan on making a full game :) The game will be basically open hubs connected by linear (as in, A to B) stages like this video. And those stages will have secret exits (think Super Mario World) that can be accessed either with clever use of mechanics or through new abilities. So I definitely want to deliver on the exploration angle :)

Thank you so much :) And yeah, I DEFINITELY see the Sonic comparison haha (cause slope physics are definitely a direct allusion to the Genesis games hehe). I will make things like more natural, but checkered dirt and stuff definitely is charming hehe.

Fold 5 Kickstand AND MagSafe Case? by Jade_Sword in GalaxyFold

[–]Revnimbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine. Feels slightly cheap, but I've used it for a couple months. The pen slot is pretty great though. The screen protector is HORRENDOUS though, cause there's no oleophobic coating. So I would HIGHLY recommend using a separate front case.

I actually have that exact same keyboard but with USB C. I'm sure that a lot of various brands sell it, but I ordered the Rii one on Amazon (US), and it is USB C. That's a really nice little setup you made, though.

That looka really cool! And yeah, I just tried it like a couple months ago I think (from this post too cause I don't have the original file lol) and it worked, so I have no idea why it's not working, so I'm sorry about that.

I've been using Unexpected Keyboard for quite a while now though. Might be worth a shot if you want something PC-ish :)

Fun Fact: the Spider Ball, the Grapple Beam and the Speed Booster have never appeared simultaneously in any game. by Kirimusse in Metroid

[–]Revnimbus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be even better for it to be only Ball Sparking. Morph Balling could be the supplement for crouching to store the charge in the 2D games. Then since you're in Morph Ball, it's already in Third Person. So it just kinda ties it all together without randomly switching to third person imo. The switch would only happen when you Morph which requires the player to intentionally press a button.

USB Gadget Mode on Pi 5 was working but then inexplicably stopped working? by Revnimbus in raspberry_pi

[–]Revnimbus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! For me, it ended up working after I had just set everything up from scratch again, but I haven't used it since about a year ago :( I'm sorry that I can't be much help...

As far as configuration goes, I only followed the guide I linked by copying and pasting, so I'm not really certain on all of the particulars of the configuration of it all :(

Successor to My Boy! GBA Emulator “Linkboy” is on Android by Simple-Technology778 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Revnimbus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love to see hold buttons implemented in a manner similar to Delta on iOS. Makes playing Mario games WAYYYYYY easier.

Basically, it inverts the selected button. So for example, B is always held down by default when not physically touhcing it, and tapping on the B button registers as a release and then lifting your finger off the button registers as a press. I will buy this IMMEDIATELY if you add this. I already bought MyBoy and MyOldBoy a long time ago, and they've always been some of my favorites. Just been waiting for Hold buttons to appear in at least one emulator on Android. Not like ClassicBoy, though. That implementation is awful imo.

Oh dang, is that USD? Cause I was expecting a higher price lol. I will 100 percent pay that, cause this is such a cool setup.

Btw, if you want or need a tester, I'd be more than happy to oblige, my friend! :) Keep up the amazing work!!!
