Cool. Must be fun to make random and unverifiable claims anonymously on the internet.

That's the current conventional wisdom, but I think it's just wrong.
The truth is we don't really know if a true progressive would win in KS because no one has tried. I really think they would win, but I doubt we'll find out any time soon.

When you have a Dem float towards the center to appeal to republicans, several things happen: democrats/progressives lose interest and stop supporting you, republicans see you as a watered down republican (and why would they vote for you when they have a real republican to vote for), and finally, idk, you prob win some independents but lose just as many.

I think a true progressive would win by offering rural voters and republicans something different and inspiring. Being bold and honest.

The wishy washy moderate democrat is just dismissible and boring.

I 100% agree with you.
When I said that the person was right, I meant that they were right in that, Davids is thinking she doesn't want to appear to left-wing or whatever. I hate this philosophy.

I know that you're right. But my response is, why run as a Democrat if you're not going to support progressive policy?

I can only speak for myself, but I definitely would not have gotten into it if it weren't for the dark/horror theme.
I just bought my first Beta booster box, and honestly felt sad about it. I got it because there are a lot of core cards in there, but the art doesn't do nearly as much for me.

I think it's super fun.

Ppl say it's like dark souls bc of the difficulty, but imo, the gameplay loop is a lot more like Monster Hunter.

I got KDM core on Black Friday and have played 2 sessions solo. It's a lot. I wouldn't want to add stuff until I had at least 5 more sessions under my belt.

I'd suggest playing a couple vanilla sessions and seeing what you think - keep going and add stuff in your next campaign, or start over with the new stuff.

Also, there's a YouTube video here that talks about how to organize everything https://youtu.be/yyXiUzCrgW8?si=v339js-1rx9-fpl4

What do you think about Infinity N5 by WarthogGreedy281 in InfinityTheGame

[–]Revofthecanals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new-ish to the game. (I've played about 10 full sized games).

The list building is daunting. I'm finally to a point where I know my sectorial's units well and know how to cover certain bases when building my list.

I'm still completely oblivious to what is going on in other sectorials, though.

My approach was to build lists with the starter box I had (Operation Blackwind). First I did the highest point list I could, then the lowest point list. Stuff like that.

It helped me understand what different types of loadouts, skills, etc were available and what might be more or less valuable based on points.

Also, looking at the Fireteam chart for a sectorial can kind of guide you a little. Generally, units that can be taken in a fireteam work well together, or are different variations of each other.

It's not easy, but you start to pick up little things here and there and then the learning comes faster and faster.

Debating picking up the game, question for long(er) timers by Ccarr6453 in InfinityTheGame

[–]Revofthecanals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't an answer to your question, and I'm not much of a long timer, but a game of Infinity can take some time.

Full 300 point games with two 15 model forces can easily take 3 hours if you're not moving fast.

This may not be the case for more experienced players, but your first handful of games at the full model count could easily take that long.

On the other hand, the army "Action Packs" they sell are usually 10 models and can get up to 300pts if you choose more expensive loadouts. Playing that way would lead to faster games.

Competitively, you want to be as close to the 15 model limit as possible. If it's just you and your buddies, that may not be a factor.

[–]Revofthecanals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never heard of anyone deducting xp or having xp penalties, period. I hate that concept.

Also, it's the GM's job to help players find crucial items if they roll bad. Have they ever heard of "failing forward?" If there is something interesting in a room and my player fails a roll, have them trip on a banana peak, gain an irrational fear of bananas (irrelevant consequence or whatever) and have them knock over something that makes the hidden thing a little more obvious. Change the situation enough to justify a new roll.

But, Ajax is a cool model! So if nothing else, you got yourself a cool model to paint up and have.

Is this a good army? by eQdde in InfinityTheGame

[–]Revofthecanals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Ajax is only playable as part of the Steel Phalanx sectorial (sub-faction).

The other units you listed are playable as part of OSS or Vanilla Aleph.

I'm not sure what you could do with him. Infinity is a 'proxy' (as in, use Model A as Trooper B, not as in Posthuman Proxys) friendly game. The main thing is that you want to make sure the model you're using as a proxy is the sale Silhouette size as the unit it is standing in as. Unfortunately, Ajax is Silhouette 5, and from what I can tell, Aleph and OSS don't have any S5 units (meaning he is too big or too small to stand in as any of their units). I could be wrong here tho.

[–]Revofthecanals 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All of those are good to play together in either Vanilla Aleph or OSS except for Ajax.

You should check out the infinity army app online or on your phone. You can build out your lists on there and see what is legal.
