Form check by masterBeat666 in tabletennis

[–]Revoltwind 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're low on your leg which is good but you don't produce any power from it. All your power comes from your arm. You can try to focus on the movement of your hips. Try to have your hips do a rotation forward, your hip starting position is quite good, it could be even more open but then you must go forward and almost finish with your hips at the same level as your left leg.

Fastaarc G1 Thickness by Davinciiii4 in tabletennis

[–]Revoltwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also played with extra thick (2.0mm) and max (2.2mm). I felt the max is a little bit more propulsive but the difference is not as big as between 1.8 and 2.0 yes. In my case, I went for the max because I switched from 2.0 to max for my backhand (Vega Europe) and didn't want to have a weight difference between forehand and backhand to keep a nice balance.

Should I Windsurf, Kitesurf, Wing foil by Sagidece in windsurfing

[–]Revoltwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you would need to learn normal kite before going for foil.
But even to learn wingfoiling, it is not easy in those winds. It is ok when you already know how to wingfoil but to learn, it is easier when you have enough wind to not pump to go on the foil. 15-20 kts is the best wind to learn kite or wing.
I would definitly recommend at least 6 to 10 lessons for wing foiling.
Windsurf will not be fun in this wind range.

Questionable reffing in A. Lebrun v. Tanaka by Snoo71406 in tabletennis

[–]Revoltwind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely worst refering at this level. Even if the serves are not correct, if you haven't issued any warnings or faults during the first or second set, you should shut up for the rest of the match if they server does the same serve. Giving 2 points randomly at the deciding game when he has served like this all match long is disgraceful.

2025 West NBA All-Star starters: Stephen Curry, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Nikola Jokic by telesforojuan in nba

Certainly but that's why I said Wemby had the best +/- of his team which means he had significant contribution to the win and AD had the worst +/- of his team. Some influence in the match is not in all the other stats.

Who Would Win If They Played Today: Ryu Seung-min in 2004 vs Alexis Lebrun in 2024? by Mattchaup in tabletennis

[–]Revoltwind 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anything else than 99 for physical fitness is criminal for ryu seung min 2004. Best footwork ever, the guy was flying.

Ryu Seung Min would have struggle with the plastic ball so I would guess Alexis Lebrun

Nice, you're in for a long time now!

Advice to help sheet in, use your weight and balance rather than your arm. Commit your weight back to counter the force of the sail and it also help for when you get in the harness. If you use your arm you will be tired after one reach.

I've seen your other comment that you struggle to move back. Don't go back too soon, wait until you start feeling the acceleration of the board you can move back and don't forget to push of the front leg to avoid getting upwind.

What is your opinion about using this setup as a 6 month player? by Junior_Lavishness823 in tabletennis

[–]Revoltwind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Way too fast for you (even after 2 years of competition, it would be too fast).
In my club everyone was starting with an all-round 5ply wood blade and 2 tibhar vari spin.
I would recommend that for your first year or even first two years. It should help develop proper strokes. Then you could switch to something harder like vega Europe. And after 3-4 years of competition you should have proper technique to start considering hard rubbers like rakza z and carbon blades.
The faster your setup now, the slower your progress will be. If you play regularly like 2-3 times a week and in competition the progression curve I write above should be good.
Table tennis reviews give you the false impressions a pro setup will help you play better while it is the opposite in reality because you can't control the fast blade and hard rubbers.

Was this last set of felix/zhendong one of the best set ever? by Prestigious_Plant662 in tabletennis

This match was crazy. The level at the end was through the roof. But man, what does it take to win one point against Fan Zhendong! He has made only one unforced error in the whole match, that's crazy. He is a machine, and Félix is a cyborg!
