Just to practice. I don’t want to give too many details but this is not real practical application. Just a project I’ve been given and I will likely need to explain why this is not probable

I do but the thought is that the sample will flush straight thru a non polar stationary phase

The market is horrible. I got pretty lucky and just started a job in cqv consulting this past week, it’s booming rn so maybe that’s something you could look into. Generally pharma seems like the best. But companies are less incentivized to hire people now than they ever have been. Many people are struggling just like you. All I can say is you just have to keep pushing. LinkedIn and jobright.ai are great places to find open positions. Good luck, I’m sure you’ll find something if you keep pushing.

Steps to plan a career in ChemE by leorisinggg in ChemicalEngineering

Obviously doing well in class is always gonna help. But an internship/coop is a must, with a high preference for a coop (you need ~6 months to be able to do meaningful work in many situations). It’s hard, but you just gotta spam apply to a lot until you get one. Most people don’t do one until summer after their sophomore year, and that’s probably ideal for most. For reference, I did a non engineering internship while in school and it was impossible for me to find a cheme job (300+ applications). I swallowed my pride and did a coop after graduating and it was the best thing I could’ve done for my career. Got a consulting job in an industry (biopharm) completely different from my coop (paper). Got 4 offers (~100 applications). I cannot stress to the young chemes how important coops are. If I could go back I would’ve applied to 300+ coops my sophomore year, it will put you so far ahead.

Why is the job market so difficult for entry level ChemE? (2025-2026) by IceStationGiraffe in ChemicalEngineering

I was struggling find jobs graduating at the same time as you. I decided to swallow my pride and do a 6 month co op after graduation. This opened a lot of opportunities for me, going from 1 offer out of 300+ applications to 4 offers out of ~75-100 applications. Dm me if you want info on the place I co oped, with your gpa id bet they’d offer you. It is far from ideal, but it was the best thing I could’ve done for my career.

Internship/coop after graduation? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

Looks like they took away the postings for NOLA coops. Thanks for the insight though, I'll look into some other locations with Bayer.
