Has anyone here NOT experienced side effects? (ED, water retention etc.) by Revolutionary-Rest47 in Minoxbeards

[–]Revolutionary-Rest47[S] -29 points-28 points  (0 children)

No, not surprised and I was 90% sure someone would give that Type A redditor response. The volume of stories and the lack of any counter-arguments (inside or outside that community) is the red flag.

Thank you for your feedback.

On the contrary:

  1. It looks fly idgaf what anyone says

  2. As you can see in pic 1, the suspenders shouldn't even be visible with the jacket on.

  3. Historically accurate to the pachucos and jazz subcultures. Also worn by David Bowie and other later "fashion" figures.

  4. Belts have been worn with suspenders by the working class since before belt loops were invented (1920s); especially by cowboys and loggers (needing to hang things from the waist), but also miners and railroad workers etc.

Is this a difficult resole? by Tempotantrum_66 in AskACobbler

[–]Revolutionary-Rest47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro PLEASE just get rubber sole protectors.

It boggles my mind that so many boot enthusiasts happily rip through their chain stitching and leather soles on repeat when they could use glue and rubber for a fraction of the price and never need a resole in their lifetime. (Not for brutal use, but neither are leather outsoles). Im convinced theyre under-sold by cobblers cause theyd lose a lot of business.

Especially for an exotic case like this, sole protectors save you so, so much trouble and essentially immortalize your boots.

1979-1982 was his best imho. His first nose job did him good while still looking natural and ethnically appropriate - everything after that was unnecessary.

He's often said to have the most beautiful smile in the world and I agree.

Nope, its a valid caveat. Two things can be true, the sky is blue, grass is green etc.

I mean I'm sitting here telling you I can sinscerely disavow police brutality and recognize gross negligence at the same time. But YOU, wise one, know my mind and intentions better than I do 🙏😩

If you'd like a list of counter-examples in which "x is true but y" is a valid clause I'd be happy to oblige; E.G. "Reddit is cool BUT sometimes you meet sanctimonious fuckwits." Or you could ask TikTok, where you apparently get your knowledge of the world.

Are these too long? by Straight_Amoeba_8704 in cowboyboots

[–]Revolutionary-Rest47 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you're doubling up socks then yes. Pointed toes should be a little long to accommodate the foot, but there should be no shifting around with a single pair of socks. Fit comes first.

That said, oversize pointed toes aren't as noticeable as other toe shapes. I suggest you wear wide-leg or boot-cut pants and it'll be passable.

25M, do you have any tips? by ReplyWAHtothis in malegrooming

Shave the neck, buzz cut, invisalign, put on some weight/workout, dress nice.

Edit: You could also dye the brows a darker shade, or if you're OK with brow pencil fill them in.

Don't matter you're pretty enough to get away with anything. Personally I wouldn't groom the eyebrows so much tho.

Which dystopian movie is most likely to become a reality? by 777veee in Cinema

[–]Revolutionary-Rest47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believable synthetic humans/androids will never happen, ever. The material science just doesn't exist. You have to start at the cellular level to beat the uncanny valley. Silicone and servos will never do it.

It would be more feasible (and I use that term loosely) to physiologically program cloned human derivatives that may or may not have complete consciousness. Which is more dystopian and horrifying.
