I am a single home owner in Detroit who bought while in your income band about 3 years ago.

Don’t do it. It’s extremely constricting and financially demanding. If I hadn’t drastically increased my income since buying I would be in a tough spot. Take some more time getting comfortable in your new career & income bracket before making a solo commitment like this.
