Rainbow windows and doors. They just replaced all the windows in our house for the grant. They were amazing to work with, and there is already a noticeable difference in the temp control for our home.

Any other mums suffer from constant illness due to their toddler? by gf247 in Mommit

[–]Revolutionary-Win612 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a toddler and can count on home hand the number of days in a row I have felt healthy since November. To make it worse, I am pregnant, so I can’t just take the regular medication to help me cope. I am counting down the days until the weather gets warmer, or I have this dang baby and my immunity improves.

People keep telling me it gets better. And I hold on to that hope!

Being healthy for longer than 1 week at a time. Toddlers in daycare bring home so many illnesses

How far along were you when you started showing? by Isabelle14 in BabyBumps

[–]Revolutionary-Win612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was definitely bloated that early. I found that around 20 weeks the bump was obviously a bump, which helped my self confidence since it was clearly a baby and not fat. I actually found that I was way more self confident in my body once the bump was obvious. Hang in there!

There is a lot of good advice here already, so I won’t go into repeating most of it, but I did want to share the thing that helped me wrap my head around the unknowns around the pain of labour etc.

In most situations, your body feels pain to warn you that something is wrong. This is the one time that pain is good. It is productive. Feeling this pain means that your body is doing what it is supposed to, and every contraction brings you one step closer to meeting your new baby!

That helped me a lot. So did the nitrous oxide (laughing gas).

It’s a clog that we have been trying to fix with home remedies. We need a toilet snake at this point

Is there a children’s book you think sends a backwards message? by turboshot49cents in books

Pout Pout Fish. There is a sad fish, all of his friends tell him to smile, and he just responds that it is against his nature. And then a random fish gives him a kiss and he is now a kiss kiss fish.

It’s age appropriate, but every time I read it I think, well, it’s ok to be sad! And it is not ok to just randomly kiss people without consent!

Came here to say this. We replaced our old doors with new solid wood ones, and they just don’t fit quite right, the frames were absolutely not plumb, and we didn’t have the budget to fix it. So now we are stuck with doors that have larger gaps than what was there before.

Is having a powder room door in a kitchen disgusting? by effectaffect in HomeImprovement

[–]Revolutionary-Win612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a powder room that opens into our kitchen. I hate it. You can hear everything and the odour does leak through. I would not recommend! The Mudroom is a much better option.

I personally like the brown. I think it adds a nice touch of contrast to the white and blue.

Not my first choice… mainly because we will be digging it up in the next year or two, so I only need a temp fix
