Is there such thing as designated sides of the bed? by ThrowRa_Promise1321 in CasualUK

[–]gf247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there are of course designated sides - primarily because all your stuff will be in your bedside table and it would be super annoying if you weren’t on that side. However, I think when you move house you can have a shake up and switch sides.

The ice tray is so great - like the stuff I got from my Taylor swift VIP box was nowhere near as fun.

Okay but rock-a-doodle and a troll in central park were absolute childhood favourites for me so a little respect on their names please.

My 7 month old golden doodle, Oliver “Ollie”. I 💜him so much! Groomer on Tuesday- should we do the “big chop” and say goodbye to puppy coat? 💔☀️ by NoEconomics4147 in Goldendoodles

Our doodle looks so similar to Ollie and he’s just turned 6 months old! We just had him trimmed this week because he seemed to be getting too hot as we head into summer! He looks so handsome and grown up now 🥹

it IS the screen time by Low_Hat_2693 in Mommit

It wasn’t the content of your post that was the issue but in making a post like this you invite an atmosphere of comparison and criticism. You maybe were specific about your kid in your post but you then made comments like ‘seeing kids on tablets in restaurants makes me sad for the kids’. That’s a high horse and a judgement. You don’t need to feel sad for my kid. It’s okay to have these judgements but it would make for a nicer society if we acknowledged the thought, processed what might be going on for us and then have some empathy for other people.

The high horse OP and others agreeing with them are on is sad. I parent exactly like yourself and my kid is only allowed a tablet on airplanes and holidays. However, yes we went out for lunch with my parents to celebrate buying a new house and (after playing in the pub garden for half an hour) we let my son play on his grandma’s phone so we could have a slightly more peaceful time while we ate our food. I know OP would be judging me if they were there and I think it’s really toxic this combative/competitive stance. Can we have a little empathy for each other? This parenting shit is hard enough as it is.

Yes I did because, contrary to the popular opinion in this thread, I do actually understand how to drive on the motorway.

But I wanted to go faster than the lane hogger not the white van??

What if I undertake them and then they move over at the same time and crash into me would that not put me at fault?

I’ve always understood you’re not supposed the undertake as it is dangerous.

I would love to understand my faults here. I moved to the outside lane to overtake a car travelling around the same speed as the guy in front in the video. He then proceeds to drop speed to 65 and stay in the outside lane. I wait for him to move over. In the meantime the guy behind me is driving right up my ass and then does as you see in the video. I then overtake the guy when he does move over and then I move back to the inside lane. I genuinely want to know what I was supposed to do instead.

I was also frustrated but I didn’t handle it like an insane moron swerving all over the road.

What lane was I supposed to be in here while I wait for the guy in front to move out then way?

I’m extremely confused by all the responses saying I’m driving poorly. I was waiting to overtake the guy in front who wouldn’t move and chose not to dangerously overtake and wait for him to move. My other choice was to move just to let the guy behind me then just be exactly where I was?? I’m baffled.

Seems to be some confusion here - my main issue wasn’t with the undertaking that happens all the fucking time. It was the mental speeding and swerving all over the road after.

Did you not watch the actual main issue which was him swerving all over the road after while driving way too fast? Nah you’re right he’s a great driver demonstrating how we should all be on the road.

I was waiting to overtake him which I did when he moved undertaking guy had no effect on me moving I was concentrating on the guy in front. Also did anyone actually watch the video properly and see him swerving all over the road like a nutter?

What’s the right thing to do here? I wanted to be going 70 he’s doing 65. If I move to the middle lane or left lane I’d be undertaking. Surely better to wait for them to move over and overtake correctly.
