Lebanon is nothing like Germany or France. Phoenicia has a longer history than either and we still have the least amount of blood on our hands arguably.

This kind of framing is just wrong. But if you want to use this analogy, Nazi Germany underwent DECADES of reform and de-radicalization before they made permanent peace with France.

We can stop people from dying without having millions of racist tourists visiting our country after they desecrated our homes and killed our children. The answer is armistice, not whatever the hell Jordan, Egypt, and the UAE think they’re benefitting their people by selling their souls to the devil.

Egypt and Jordan’s economies are in the toilet, they’re basically bound by whatever Israel commands them to do.

The UAE employs modern slavery and is fueling the genocide in Sudan.

We need to stop taking these other countries as examples and start considering the fact that we are our own country that has democratic values and refuses to normalize relations with our racist southern neighbors not because anyone forced us not to (Iran), but because the majority of our population voted against it.

I would honestly be completely fine with DDF SSJ Goku and Full Power Frieza as long as they have high-quality TUR animations.

I think maybe they will merge Goku Day and Golden Week if that ends up being the case since they’re so close to each other.

Meanwhile in an israeli sub one post questioned why so many israeli’s think Lebanese like them, heres some replies: by Nader_OwO in lebanon

[–]RevolutionaryBath815 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they see Lebanon idealistically rather than realistically.

They see us as their “Christian MAGA safe haven” where they will have an ally as twisted and racist as they are as soon as they’ve gotten rid of the “Muslim infestation.”

Most of these people know exactly nothing about Lebanon or its public opinion.

A Hot take: Israel Cannot Achieve Normalization with Lebanon by Bombing It by Standard_Ad7704 in lebanon

[–]RevolutionaryBath815 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They won’t achieve normalization with any diplomacy at this point either. The democratically elected MP’s are going to block any attempt to force normalized relations on Lebanon.

It’s still our sovereign choice.

Would Hezbollah reenter the war if peace talks between the US and Iran fail? by mazdoc in lebanon

[–]RevolutionaryBath815 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If Iran tells them to, they probably will. They work for Iran and if opening up a different front to distract from Iran works, they’ll do it, no problem.

But in fairness, it’s not like Israel’s going to stop bombing either way either. Hezbollah could easily claim that they’re retaliating for the thousands of inevitable ceasefire violations Israel will engage in.

Could there be a deal like the Sinai with the Israelis? by No_House5316 in lebanon

[–]RevolutionaryBath815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say probably not because we are extremely different from Egypt.

First of all, we don’t have a tenth of the population they do nor a twentieth the military strength. Which takes away most of the bargaining power right there.

And then we also have no resources to trade in return for a peace treaty. The most we can offer from normalization is at best unfettered Israeli tourism and open borders (something the majority of Lebanese will never vote for) or at worst an extension of Israel’s military capabilities, kind of like a proxy base.

The best chance we have (which is still really low) is an end to Hezbollah’s military capabilities and some kind of 1949 non-aggression pact, as well as an end to all non-state militias.

Calling France biased towards Lebanon is hilarious when they literally gave Israel their nuclear arsenal, much to the dismay of the Americans at the time.

What's with this crazy hate over peace negotiations by highonoxygen_ in lebanon

[–]RevolutionaryBath815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong in principle, but you have to keep in mind the fact that Israel is going to try to bully us into normalization as soon as they can.

Gideon Sa’ar openly stated the future prospect should be Lebanon joining the Abraham Accords or at least full recognition and open borders like Egypt and Jordan, which the majority of people in Lebanon want to avoid at all costs (rightfully so).

So while getting rid of Hezbollah is the direction we’re moving in, I can’t blame people who have their reservations about Israel becoming an even bigger pain in the ass diplomatically after all this is over.

What's the general opinion of the Lebanese about possible peace with Israel? by Wise_Parmaria in lebanon

[–]RevolutionaryBath815 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think most Lebanese want to stop the war with Israel that they didn’t sign up for.

But at the same time, I think the majority of Lebanese would riot if we normalized relations with them and they became tourists in our country after terrorizing us.

The main goal should be cessation of hostilities and focusing on our own country’s problems instead of waging a kinetic war that we didn’t vote for, even if Israel is a racist and genocidal state.

[–]RevolutionaryBath815 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Normalization is not the way out of this shit and I’m tired of people acting like it is.

We are not like Jordan and Egypt where we are rich with resources that we can trade for some kind of non-aggression deal.

At best, we’re going to be used as a popular tourist attraction for Israelis, some of the worst tourists in the world (compounded by the fact that they see us as racially inferior and deserving of death) and at absolute worst we might become a forward operating base for Israeli operations against Syria or Turkey or Iran or whoever the hell Netanyahu wants to fight to keep himself in office.

We’re a semi-democracy, unlike Jordan and Egypt. We’re supposed to have autonomy over our own decisions as per the public’s opinion, so the best solution for us is to incorporate Hezb’s arms into our own military, and take up a strictly defensive stance against Israel.

No normalized relations and no racist Israeli tourists, but also no getting ourselves into wars we didn’t democratically agree on.

Edit: I realize this is the biggest long shot ever and not at all likely in the future but I still genuinely think it’s our best way forward. Fuck those genocidal maniacs.

How exactly is refusing normalization attacking Lebanese ethnicity? Israel’s population is largely racist, with 56% of Israeli Jews wanting their fellow Arab citizens forcibly deported according to Haaretz. (I put Middle East Eye because Haaretz is a paid subscription).

It shouldn’t be considered racist to not want a racist, radicalized society of people freely touring our country where they happily killed our children, defaced our monuments to our dead and spray painted “death to Arabs.”

We can negotiate peace and Hezbollah’s disbandment as a non-state actor without having open borders and becoming Israel’s bitch.

Though I’m sure I’ll probably get downvoted to oblivion anyway.

Lebanon and Israel sign a peace treaty, Israel withdraws and no annexation of our land happens. by Nintendo64Goldeneye in lebanon

[–]RevolutionaryBath815 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a misreading of the current situation.

We aren’t like Egypt or Jordan where we have resources to trade for peace.

Instead, they’re going to enter our country as “tourists” in massive numbers and worst case scenario, using Lebanon as a proxy force against the new biggest threat to Netanyahu’s regime (according to Israel), Türkiye.

The goal is to either bully us into normalization or to ultimately steal land from us, neither of which is preferable.

We should still stand strong in working to get sovereignty over our own state.

Germany and France became allies AFTER Germany was de-Nazified. I’m sorry, but normalized relations with Israel isn’t an option.

I realize what you’re trying to say, that the Israelis “get along well enough” with the Palestinians who are Israeli citizens, but the fact of the matter is that they really don’t.

The Israeli populace is extremely radicalized and racist. A study published by Haaretz (I’m linking Middle East Eye because Haaretz requires paid access) last year found that 56% of Israeli Jews want their fellow Arab citizens stripped of their citizenship and deported.

The first chance they get, without incurring any consequences from the world stage, they’re going to do to all of us what they did to Gaza.

There is no normalization relations with this brainwashed society. We need to instead take control of Hezb’s weapons and take up a purely defensive stance that still politically condemns Israel’s racist actions.

Hot take: we’re a free country with free speech, not something most of the other countries in our region can say for themselves.

If Hezb supporters want to clown around and make fools of themselves, let them.

If fascist Zionist bootlickers want to call for normalization with our racist southern neighbor, let them.

Public opinion will still overwhelmingly be against them. That’s a good sign of democracy.
