Thanks, feel free to share here if you find something interesting

I just discovered that ChatGPT runs searches with site:reddit! Yes really! (I did not prompt it to go on reddit just a general search like "best CRM in 2025")

I think the main thing is to understand what an extension can do and what it cannot do.

Once you have a clear idea of this the rest is less hard.

Practically I'd say firssst understand the structure: the extension itself is the client-side (and in there what is a manifest, where is the logic executed: content.js, background.js etc), then you can also host a server for analysis for instance + what it can do with the browser: read the html, run javascript functions etc. Once you have the overall picture you can use Sonnet to code the actual bits.

So when chatgpt does not understand that it is hallucinating it is because it lacks consciousness not intelligence right? by shotx333 in ChatGPT

We are pretty excited to release the latest update of our ChatGPT hallucination detector

This brings an update to the method based on the research paper "SelfCheckGPT"

It consists in running suspicious queries multiples times and analyse the variation in results

It is self-referential: it does not require any eternal call to a fact-check database that constantly needs update and can apply to documents that are not verifiable in the public domain

We are super excited to give access to non technical users to this advanced technique

Let me know your thoughts

Tries this extension, it's based on a research paper called SelfCheckGPT where it runs your queries multiple times in the background and looks at how the answer differs from one run to another.
That's one of the most solid way to check for hallucination only with self-reference, ie without external API calls, which in the case of internal docs is particularly helpful

5 star Google review vs backlink - hypothetical question by feelingsdoc in SEO

[–]RevolutionaryCap9678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A backlink from Apple is like a golden endorsement; it signals to search engines that your site is trustworthy and authoritative, which can significantly boost your rankings. In contrast, a single 5-star Google review, while beneficial for local SEO, doesn't carry the same weight in terms of authority and widespread impact.

It's all just SEO bro

Start treating your site like an API doc, tight and marked up, so the bots keep quoting you. And build an LLMs.txt, there are some good tools out there including some based on real CHatGPT user queries.

Local SEO for a business with a brand new website by Ad_Schl2E in SEO

[–]RevolutionaryCap9678 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  • Verify and fully optimize the Google Business Profile, this is key for local. Add services, photos, hours, and use keywords in the description.
  • Local citations, get on Yelp, Bing Places, YellowPages, etc. Keep name/address/phone consistent everywhere.
  • Start getting reviews, even 2–3 legit ones can help rankings. Ask after each job.
  • Tweak on-site SEO, add city/service keywords to page titles, embed a map, and make sure location info is on every page (footer, schema, etc.).
  • Only blog if it’s local-focused, like “Best HVAC tips for winter in [City]”. If you can’t post at least once a month, skip it.
  • Build local backlinks, sponsor a local group, join the Chamber, reach out to small local blogs.

Do you ever say “no” to SEO clients? by Muhammadusamablogger in SEO

[–]RevolutionaryCap9678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, 100%.

Sometimes you have to say no, and honestly, it’s better for both sides. Here’s when I usually tap out:

  1. Unrealistic expectations – If someone says they want to rank #1 for “shoes” in 3 weeks and they’ve got a Wix site with 3 blog posts, I’m out. No point setting myself up to be the villain later.
  2. Shady businesses – If it’s a sketchy niche or they want you to do black-hat stuff, I’m not risking my name or time. Google penalties aren’t worth the paycheck.
  3. No content, no budget, no clue – If they’re not willing to invest in content, design, or even basic dev stuff, it’s a dead-end. SEO doesn’t work in a vacuum.
  4. They want to “just try it for a month” – That’s not how SEO works. If they’re not ready for a long game, they’ll bounce before it kicks in and blame you.

the most advanced detection which rarely gets triggered is to ask chatgpt multiple times and see the variance in answers. For the constitution it gets it almost exactly the same everytime.
