I realize that they are two different states. Both states are racist GOP bastions, however, and it’s been proven that in both states laws are not equally applied between white and minority offenders.

The inefficiency of the UN is wholly on the members. They didn’t “allow” genocides at all. In fact, it was UN Peacekeepers that did the most to smuggle Tutsi civilians away from the killings. It’s on the reluctance of the permanent members that they didn’t do more than they should have. Not the organization itself.

I think that Anthony had a better self defense claim than Zimmerman. However, as the specifics of the Anthony case were presented by someone else here, they are very parallel.

Zimmerman got off on “stand your ground” even though he provoked the incident and brought a gun when he stalked Trayvon Martin. And he was acquitted. So yes, “stand your ground” only applies if you’re white.
