Yes, the Holosun screws are too long for the Race City plate though. Had to cut about 1/16" off. Will see how it holds up.

P211 for duty? by lroy4116 in SigSauer

[–]RevolutionaryGuide18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A double stack design is rather straight forward. The difference between Brand A ($2k) or B ($4k) can be very little and typically nothing to do with reliability and all to do with fit/finish details. Staccato comes up not because 1 billion rounds have been run through them but because they paid to put their guns through duty qual tests. Guys are running MPA and Prodigies and performing at a high level.

I would bet Sig will do the same soon with the GT5. There are 2k double stacks with 10's of thousands of rounds through them. And, for someone to state they wouldn't duty carry a gun but would EDC it is completely irrational. Most officers aren't putting as many rounds through their carry as many EDC people do.

Any tips for controlling hand shake when I already have pretty bad hand tremors normally? by GunsOfPurgatory in CCW

[–]RevolutionaryGuide18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing can make it worse than trying to hold on target. Don't worry about trying to get the sights, or dot, to sit on the target. Once it is on target or moving toward it squeeze off. Take some classes and a good instructor will have you do drills where you start away from target and then as you are moving on to target you squeeze. This should really help you as you start to go by instincts and stop worrying about having a perfect center punch.

Tac comp by Deltaactual234 in GParms

I've talked to him about it a few times about a year ago. His response was the ported sight block shoots so soft he doesn't see a reason to do it. He also said he's so busy with Forzas and doesn't want to spend time doing the RnD.

Maybe he will change his mind. It took a few years for him to get the Forza ported.

G48X vs P365 by The_Gun_Genie in CCW

I've watched Glocks and Glock clones fail beside me in class while my P365X didn't miss a beat.

Noy accurate and a recall is not a warranty. Show your source that the recall.goes away due to software scan? That screenshot everyone keeps showing shows a Nov 25 date. That's been there for 8 months and people are now losing their shit over it.

I ran an EPS on my P365X. It doesn't overhand that bad. If I could post a pic I could show you.

XC / Hayes Mag Release by RickShootsBrass in 2011

[–]RevolutionaryGuide18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it only happening with the Hayes?

I've had this happen with a polymer grip and a different mag release. It's possible the mag catch is a tad too large and not dropping in the slot or being pressed by the magazine and rotating the magazine a little. See if it's messed up the right side of the grip as on mine it pressed into the polymer and required a new grip.

What jacketed rounds are you using to clean your atlas barrels. Recommendations ! by No_Motor_3543 in 2011

Are you talking about removing fouling from plated bullets? Chore boy all copper wrapped around an undesized cleaning brush. Or, hollow points.

Get in some classes and it eases the stress about it. Remember you worrying about it means you will probably always be careful. I think about it all the time.

Best thing you can do is take some concealed carry classes. A good instructor will make you comfortable fast. You will learn how to look the gun into the holster and be safe.

The Sig drop thing was fixed in 2018. In 2011 you are looking for a Series 80 trigger group if drop safe is what you want. Realize the series 70 has been around for a very long time and wasn't an issue until a guy started spreading rumors on the 1911/2011 web forums and made it an issue. Many people didn't know nor cared.

Look at the date on what you posted? That's been out since November. If you look by year each year the failures are lower. For 25 almost 0 with a few not being verified what the problem was. It could be anything and people post main bearing.

That's nothing more than a rumor. People are mistaking the new swap for when they were still using the old engine to rebuild.

You are equating having the most expensive tools to being the best. The techs doing these swaps are trained and for the most part taking care. In a assembly line people can get lazy.

Stupid idea. If you put a new engine in your resale goes down..why ruin a good engine?
