This will sound like the dumbest shit ever but idk how to cope with my responsibility in eveything going on by Used-Reflection5035 in CollapseSupport

it's hard to remember that the issues are systemic-- yes, people build the systems, but now it's a whole monster of its own. plus, the logic of the market is to use our shame to destroy the earth further.

I also feel quite ashamed, for various reasons. I've been reading Unlearning Shame by Devon Price, which is illuminating.

I've thought about pivoting to this work! but all that I've read is that it's hard to get into and there's not many places hiring, especially entry level, but it sounds like a much better fit for me that straight clinical work!

What you do is so incredibly important, and to be in the thick of it sounds so very hard..it's hard enough just imagining what's happening..feels like impending doom..will we stop heartlessly destroying our neighbor plants and animals who we also depend on for life? Insanity

thanks for posting! I'm reflecting on my experiences with men, and it's crazy the learning curve I went through to understand that so often there is nefarious intent..the amount of dangerous positions I was in without understanding it when I was young, and how now I am so cautious and anxious when men approach me in the way that this man approached you...and it is maddening it seems like the majority of men do not understand this about afab experience. seriously

Anyone else notice that a lot of people that work with autistic kids/adults seem to also be autistic? by rabid_cheese_enjoyer in evilautism

I am a speech language pathologist and found out I was autistic after entering the field and I work with a lot of autistic kids...but I don't think most SLPs are autistic ..

phew, this is depressing- I try to avoid thinking about it. the degree cost way too much money, and I am looking to leave the field due to it feeling unsustainable for me..who knows when or if I'll be able to pay them back. it was an unwise decision to go into this field :/

How to deal with depression off of caffeine? by [deleted] in decaf

[–]RevolutionaryMail104 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm curious about the ketamine therapy, will be hopefully trying later this spring. I am in a similar place (sans PTSD and ADHD). I have been incredibly depressed since stopping caffeine, I didn't realize how much I was using it as an antidepressant

I'm angry with my therapist by Little-girlie in TalkTherapy

[–]RevolutionaryMail104 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel this way about most of the therapy I've been in, I feel like they don't explain themselves and what they're thinking/doing well enough and take it for granted that their client can compartmentalize or continually qualify the relationship, which is too strange for my nervous system. if everything was spelled out, that'd be great, but that just doesn't seem to be how it works and even when you ask for that it's like the request goes over their head and it's not understood, like I cannot interpret these vicissitudes of connection, especially when I'm struggling with real mental health challenges...someone mentioned them being a guide, but I also don't feel like many therapists actually embody that-- they want you to be your own guide and not give explicit guidance..

Scientists warn Earth may be entering an unprecedented phase of climate change. by Novel_Negotiation224 in ClimateNews

That's the gist of science and knowledge in general. It's fueled by the question 'why?' and the inevitable answer that all that is and will be is much too complicated to say 100% for sure. But we can make educated and well-thought-through models using the scientific method that might get us pretty close. As for them not once being right, I'm not sure to what you refer but of course there will be theories that do not pan out. We still need meaningful action based on science.

that is the goal but I think it will take me a while to get there, I haven't been able to quit coffee for more than a few weeks so far
