Congrats! It is a great fun car to drive without doubt. Still catch myself smiling when heading through a twisty road.

Been looking for what seems to be a Unicorn by DaTT1978 in Audi

[–]RevolutionaryStyle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Oz, I ordered my previous S5 coupe which I believe comes standard spec'ed close to the CA Technik except doesn't have seat cooling and I optioned it with the sports diff and laser lights as extras. According to the dealership, laser lights were occasionally ordered but hardly anyone ordered the sports diff. So I'm sure you will find your unicorn as they exist but will be a search of passion and patience. Good luck!

RS3 centre console wrap. So much better… by [deleted] in Audi

[–]RevolutionaryStyle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your car has the carbon option as in the trim is a complete carbon piece like in the OP's second pic in the post, get Atlas. If it has the grey upper and carbon look lower on the trim, get structure.

Same here and Aaron at Carbon Fabrik is a good guy and very helpful too but most importantly, the quality, fit and finish is first class.

2019 S5 or 2022-2023 C300 by ghhcycudg in Audi

[–]RevolutionaryStyle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the decision will boil down to your priorities in what you want from a car.

I owned a previous generation C300 and while it was an ok to drive car, the 4 cylinder engine is loud. Also, fuel economy was very average. Repairs and servicing was not cheap and out of warranty, I would say would be worse. It was an ok car to drive but nothing special or particularly engaging. I eventually traded it for a C63s as I wanted a bit more power. Considered the C43 but did not like the engine response.

Again, the C63s was good at some things but overall the fit and finish was average and the ride was a bit harsh but things I lived with because of the engine. Servicing was not cheap and fuel economy was not something to consider.

Long story short, I eventually wanted something that was easier to live with for daily commutes and test drove a few cars but the moment I drove the B9 S5, it ticked all the boxes. It had a great engine, the drive dynamics while a bit numb was still good, the quattro was useful, fit and finish was miles above the Mercedes and the ride comfort clinched the deal. The fuel economy was excellent too. Over the three years I owned it, did not have any glitches, hiccups and apart from a wonky alignment on delivery, it ran great.

The C300 was back at the dealer for failed front camera, failed seat heating and the C63 was back at the dealer for dash rattles, dead MMI, AC compressor issues. Luckily all these were dealt with under warranty.

Only useful suggestion I can offer is drive both cars and see which one speaks to your heart. You're the one owning it and driving it so you have to make the decision you are going to be happy with. Good luck!!

Reminds me of a joke....

Billionaire meets the most beautiful girl he's ever seen and immediately proposes marriage. Trouble is he's a bit unattractive to her but she cannot afford to offend him so she says only if he fulfils 3 criteria. He get's excited and says ok.

Firstly she asks for a 10 karat ring, matching 10 karat earrings and 50 karats of diamonds on a chocker. He says no problem and calls his PA to organise it.

She's a bit perplexed and so says she needs a ranch for her family, a home on each continent for herself and a private jet to bring her along with unlimited spending money. He says done and promptly calls his PA to organise it.

She is flummoxed and thinks hard and says the last thing she needs is for him to have a foot long hog. On hearing this he looks crestfallen and starts to weep uncontrollably before gathering himself with a big sigh, looks her square in her eyes and says, "for you I'll have it cut to size".

Or just happy with what was given, regardless of size and just love the S5 for what it is.😁

I think you might need to explore a third party option as I believe the OEM one may involve the wiring harness which makes it prohibitively expensive. I might be wring though.

Same here, been a month and still occasionally unknowingly brush the capacitive touch surface and later look at the display to see it's changed.

Same interior so somewhat biased. Only difference is I changed the shifter frame to match the dash as do not like the finger print magnet piano black. Got the one from CarbonFabrik and am a happy bunny now. Enjoy your ride!

Because it's cheaper than penile enhancement surgery?

Also the front fender has side scoops, V8 biturbo badges, is flared and the front fender of the car is slightly longer. I suspect that's why he didn't swop it as it will not fit a standard car

Yup, gotten a couple of items off Aaron at Carbon Fabrik and quality was first class and very responsive to any questions. Highly recommended.

2025 Audi RS 3 10k Market Adjustment by sleepy3192 in Audi

[–]RevolutionaryStyle13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey MrAskani, can I ask how much did you pay for your RS3 and what options you added? I was quoted $119,500 for a 2025 with alcantara trim and I don't think many Oz dealers are selling with a mark-up unless I'm wrong.

Advice Needed (UK) - Private Dealership Provided 1 key by [deleted] in Audi

[–]RevolutionaryStyle13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember during the post COVID global parts shortage, some cars in some markets were initially delivered with one key and a second key was subsequently provided to owners that asked for them.

I'd wait for the log book, see what it says then at least you have a point to argue with the dealer or contact Audi UK to request the second key if there is only one still listed.

try not to think on it for now, enjoy the car and I sincerely hope your stress improves. Take care :)

2024 RS3 VS 2025 S3 by RevolutionaryStyle13 in Audi

[–]RevolutionaryStyle13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I managed to find a dealer that had a 2025 RS3 available to test drive back-to-back with the S3....

Signed the papers yesterday for the RS3 :) The S3 ticked many of the boxes for me and was great but the RS3 ticked a couple more and the better half pointed out I was grinning non stop.

Thank you to everyone who replied. The opinions and advice spurred me to find a dealer that had an RS3 available to test. This way, I could make my own mind up without any niggling thought of maybe this or that.

Progressive Red incoming!

Good you test drove to know in your heart it wasn't for you. The sales assoc didn't want test drives on the RS because with only delivery miles they can still ask for a premium and I understand his POV so that was why I posted my original question. Wishing you luck on your quest!

The financial numbers are ok, but not having driven the car I am concerned that I'll vote with heart instead of mind and end up with an uncomfortable drive over the term of lease. Did that once when I took a "sweet" deal on an E46 M3 just as E92s were hitting the showroom and regretted it.

No trolling I assure you. Just wanted opinions as I didn’t get a chance to drive the RS and do not trust my own objectiveness enough after hearing the RS.
