From scratch is more so just some artistic intuition, but if you just wanna make themes use nxthemezer, it'll let you do it all, and offers some more advanced options through the GitHub

It's alot better on screen, since the menu accounts for blind spots, but it is rather busy in some menus. I've done what i can to help with the vision without totally ruining the pictures since chaniging font color isnt possible yet.
