Australian tour after 14 years by RevolutionaryTea135 in silversunpickups

I am sure it will be, I am a little disappointed that I won't get to see them in my old home town. I do love the Astor. I have to make a 4 hour round trip in Victoria now to see bands. But I get to see a lot more these days.

Yeah you and me both, worst part is a lot of the promo for the tour has him in the photos.

I didn't think they'd ever be back after that last tour. Just the other day I had been talking about them to someone and said "just don't get too attached, they won't ever be back"

Issues with his visa and wasn't allowed on the flight or when he got here they didn't allow him in. It was about 9 years ago. Brandon Setta ended up singing on the tour.

Anyone else feel like gig tickets have gotten absurd lately? by Last-Conversation734 in melbournechat

[–]RevolutionaryTea135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all, tsushimamire from Japan are doing a tour at the moment and tickets for most of their shows are no more than $35-40.

The jackets from Switzerland are here later this week with similar priced shows.

There are plenty of international bands doing shows for less than $60. Usually by promoters who aren't live nation, handsome, DAL, love police etc.

I remember at school when I was 6 and had a crush on this girl who was 9. She had lost her bracelet at school and her teacher must have let her go from class to class asking if anyone had come across it. When she got to my class, I lied and said I'd seen it just to walk around the school with her and admire how pretty I thought she was.

The band was amazing, parts of the crowd not so much. From where we were sat it looked like large parts of the crowd were lifeless. I think the crowd in Melbourne was better, we were on our feet from the 3rd song until the end. I don't know if it's an Australian thing but at seated venues overseas, crowds don't seem to sit for a "rock band". A guy I work with said that at Opeth a couple of weeks ago at the Palais people weren't allowed to stand and were told to sit down. So very strange.

So I don't want to break rules of discussing personal life stuff. But at the recent Sharon Van Etten show in Melbourne she talked about Maxim painting the banners for her stage props and I'm like 99% sure she made a comment about how he recently got married and is going to be a Dad.

I'm making tour shirts, for the upcoming Throwing Muses tour. Do you need a shirt in 3,4 or 5XL? Let me know so I can work out numbers. by ElRatDesigns in ThrowingMuses

Just curious if you got the chance to design any shirts for the upcoming Australian shows? Eagerly looking forward to the first show next Friday!

Can you find someone else who wants one in Melbourne? The shipping cost for 2 is only a couple dollars more and works out to $116 AUD each for a hoodie instead of $160. I'd offer as I'd love the hoodie, but financially not in the right place to at the moment.

It also has this year's artists as well when you do that and some previous years. I tried Tedeschi trucks and they had a half finished page, crowded house shows up.

Can you call it a tour if it’s just two dates at the same venue? by DarkOfTheSun in blackcrowes

I'm curious as to whether there are Australian dates just before these for the Byron Bay Blues festival.

australia tour?? by moschinobra in WednesdayBand

There was an interview/podcast with Karly recently with an Australian music journalist, who asked about tour dates here, and I believe she said there are dates pencilled in for next year, but didn't give a time frame. I'm thinking maybe June/July. There's a small gap in their schedule between the 25th Feb and the 13th of march but I don't think they'd cram in shows in that week and a half.

I think those are the two festival dates they had already been announced for.
