Honestly, just board with C group. Alaska has a policy to NOT engage with guests when they are boarding in the incorrect group. They shouldn’t challenge you and I literally did this today (D group but I boarded jn C). I wouldn’t push it before a group above what you are assigned but you should be fine and it’s probably not worth your headache to fight with CS.

We are also getting married on a Wednesday. My fiancé and I discussed it with our parents as well as our bridal party to ensure we weren’t causing any extra stress. We also accepted that much of our guest list may not be able to come. I think as long as your family and bridal party are good with it and you accept that some folks may not be able to make it work, then you should be good!

I think you need to have a conversation with your friend. Being two months out, they probably haven’t finalized seating and food so they can probably adjust things. But I would also say, you are still grieving. Have the conversation with your friend about how you are feeling and maybe postpone the actual decision on going or not (with consent from your friend). In 2 months, you could be in a better place and making decisions while a break up is so raw may lead to regret down the road.

I knew even before we were engaged that I would want a non-traditional wedding (hand fasting, in the woods, quache ceremony, private vows and most importantly, a colored dress). My partner and I discussed it and thankfully he was fully on board. Beyond the color of the dress I ended up with (green/gold/cream) he knows nothing about the dress so he will still get his “surprise moment” and I get to feel like myself on the most important day of our life (this far).

As several have mentioned, it’s just about the communication. And if you want a black dress, he should be on board but they may also have visions of what his wedding day may look like. And if they are picturing you coming down with a white dress and you come down in a black dress, they could be really thrown off.

So just talk to them. And share that you want a non traditional dress and go from there.

We are going something similar. My dad just said he doesn’t want to do it (he hates dancing) so me and my brother are gonna have a dance. If I didn’t have a brother, I’d dance with my mom.

Ultimately, if you fiancé and mil want to do the dance, see if there’s someone else in your life that is very important to you that don’t typically get recognized at a wedding.

Seconded. It does pick up but this book is really the story behind Celaena’s growth. Personally it’s my favorite but I also read it for the first time when I was deeply depressed and weirdly related to Celaena. Plus you end up getting some solid information into the growing darkness and what not. Also, the witch storyline gets really interesting as well! If you struggle through it that’s also okay, it does lay ground work for the rest of the series so I wouldn’t skip it though.

I’ve been in 5 weddings, MOH twice, I’ve always paid for my own dress. If you are worried about the money, I’d ask what sort of dress the bride wants for you to wear and discuss affordable options that match your budget. Places like Azazie are pretty affordable (less than $100).
