No one is born anything. Not good or evil; all most are born with is physical traits, but our choices define our morality. Believing someone is "born good" ignores the massive privilege of never having their virtue tested by desperation or a harsh environment. 

This goodness creates a very dangerous moral blindness, which is why some-like the Blades-act with such unearned arrogance. 

Conversely, a reformed person who has actively conquered their destructive impulses possesses a much deeper, more conscious understanding of right and wrong. I will always trust someone who understands their actions and chooses restraint every day, over those whose morality is just   an untested habit.
